This guide will be updated throughout the school year to provide students and parents with valuable information about high school graduation, applying to and paying for college, career planning opportunities, and more. Attend one of the High School Parent Summits.
The High School Parent Summits will help parents/guardians learn more about how to support their student as they enter, experience, and exit high school. Participants will choose from over 30 interest sessions covering topics to include transitioning to high school and college, college planning, trade and technical programs, workforce, financial aid, mental health, and much more.
All parents will receive an e-mail during the month of September with a link to register for this popular event. Don't wait to register as seats fill up quickly.

Attend one of the two college fairs held during the 2019-2020 school year.
You will find over 100 two-year and four-year colleges at each of these events. Students and parents can talk to admission officers and gain valuable information about specific schools. There is no need to register for either of the college fairs. We look forward to seeing you there!

Paying For College - Hands on Help Session
Make sure to bring the following documents needed to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid:
- Your Social Security Number
- Your Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
- Your federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.)
- Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
- Records of untaxed income (if applicable)

Naviance Student
The Office of Student Services is pleased to provide, free of charge, to all PWCS high school students, Naviance Student. This comprehensive website provides opportunities for you and your student to jointly plan for life after high school.
Naviance Student allows your student to:
- Get involved in the planning and advising process – Build a resume, complete online surveys, and manage timelines and deadlines for making decisions about colleges and careers
- Research colleges – Compare his/her GPA, standardized test scores, and other statistics to actual admissions decision data from your high school for students who have applied in the past
- Research careers – Research hundreds of careers and career clusters, and take career assessments
- Create plans for the future – Create goals and to-dos, and complete tasks assigned by the school to better prepare your student for future college and career goals
Naviance Student also lets us share information with you and your student about upcoming meetings and events, local scholarship opportunities, and other resources for college and career planning.
