Similarities and Differences Between Rome and the US


In Rome and the US you are automatically a citizen if you were born there, but they are not considered a citizen if they are a slave.


If you were a slave there was little chance of freedom but if your owner was nice then they would let you be free and your chiildren could be citizens but you couldn't.

Rights of citizens

If you were a citizen then you were allowed to vote, hold offices, own property such as land, houses, and slaves.


Laws were mostly focused on things such as marriage, inheritance, and contracts between people.


if you were given a punishment in the United Satates you would normally go to jail but if you were given a punishment in Rome then you would get beaten or become a slave.
