Born June 29, 1868 & Died on February 21, 1938.
He was born in Chicago Illinois, in the U.S.A.
He has an undergraduate degree from Massachustes institute of technology.
He was a professor for astronomy at the University Of Chicago.
He had two siblings which unfortunately died as infants from a sever illness, and his father was a very well know wealthy Chicago bussisness man.
PERSONAL CHALLENGE: Suffered from schizophrania and that led to him having to resign as a director at Mount Wilson Observatory.

Yerkes Observatory
The worlds largest refractor, it was opened in 1897, and is still used for research including adaptive optic studies.
Mount Wilson Observatory
Founded in 1904, this discovery had a 60 Inch reflector, it was built in 1908 and used as the main nighttime telescope.
Palomar Observatory
Founded in 1934, this was not completed until after World War II, and this was also used for the Palomar Sky Survey in 1948
Did You Know...?
George Hale suffered from sever Nueorlogical and Psychological problems, he also suffered from insomnia, headaches and schizophrinia. He even claimed an elf helped him with his work. He would also spend a couple months a year in a sanitarium in Maine.
