Change on the Shelves!

The HS and MS library staff has been busy genrifying our fiction collections. If you've walked through the libraries, you've probably seen books all over the place! On the shelves, on the carts, on tables, on the floor... all while we sort hundreds of books to create dynamic shelving. This creates a book store front (think Barnes and Noble!) by cataloging fiction by its genre and making books more accessible to students. At Demoney, we'll gradually be organizing nonfiction books by topic so all students, TK-4th grade, will be able find the books they're interested in more easily.
Big picture

Fall Scholastic Book Fair!

Demoney Library will host its annual Scholastic Book Fair November 7th-10th. (If we receive the shipment sooner, we'll open the fair earlier). Thanks to the generous donation from our Demoney PAT, all students will receive a gift card to purchase one book from the fair. PAT has generously raised their donation this year! Students in pre-k through 2nd grade will have up to $10 to spend, and 3rd & 4th students will have up to $12. The book fair will be open throughout the week of Nov. 7th and during P/T Conferences on Nov. 10th.

A Note from Brandi

While I'm typically among all three buildings throughout the day, each TA has my schedule and can let you know where to find me. If you need anything or have questions, feel free to email me! I'd love to find time to collaborate with you and provide resources to support your curriculum.

Destiny Library Catalog

All students and staff have access to the Destiny online library system, not only to look for books in our libraries but also to use several personalized features for their accounts. Ms. Glanzer has worked with all students in grades five through eleven to show them how to log-in to their Destiny account. (Demoney students will be given Destiny instruction next semester). With this access, students can search for books, make a wishlist, put books on hold, recommend books to each other, see their current checkouts, plus many more features! Being logged in isn't necessary to search for books, and the library staff in all three buildings can help with finding books throughout the district. We can also provide help with accessing your Destiny account. Students and staff may borrow books from any library in the district.

Chromebook Update

Thanks to the hard work of our tech department, everything is going smoothly with MS and HS chromebook check-outs. Both libraries have enough chromebooks to lend throughout the day.
