Burlingame Intermediate School

Friday, October 28, 2022

Dear BIS Family & Friends,

It is unbelievable that it is already the end of October. Where has the time gone?

We are more than half-way through the first trimester. How are your students' grades? Please have your student reach out to teachers if they are struggling. We want to teach each student to advocate for themself, when they need help or just need some clarification on an assignment. Let's empower our learners together!

Halloween is Monday! Here are some Halloween Guidelines for BIS Costumes:

  • Students are invited to wear their costumes to school and take part in Advisory Class Costume Contest. There will be a winner in each Advisory class to join the Whole School Costume Contest at Brunch in front of the Library.

  • No Full masks, weapons, inflatable, bloody, gory costumes please.

  • Students should be comfortable and able to participate in their classes despite their costume.

  • A change of clothes may be helpful so students are comfortable learning.

Thank you for helping your student make a good choice for Monday’s Costume Day.

The whole week is spirit week!

Tuesday is ‘90’s Dress

Wednesday is Matching Day

Thursday is Color Wars:

8th grade: Black

7th grade: Blue

6th grade: White

Friday is TrojanPride Spirit Day-Wear Blue & White or your favorite Trojan Swag!

Show your school spirit all week long.

We hope to see you this weekend at the Fall Play. Ms. Ibos and her Cast & Crew have been working hard to ensure a great show for us all! You can buy tickets Here.

The staff had a great time at Bayside Park playing softball with some of our 8th grade girls and boys. It was a fun evening and I know the students LOVE beating the staff, no matter the sport. Great Job 8th graders!!!

Next match is Volleyball on Wednesday, November 16th Staff against 8th grade girls team. Come cheer on your favorite staff member 3:15pm in the BIS-MPR.

Identifications Cards (IDs)- Students should have their student ID everyday.

Please have your child carry their BIS ID Card with them. Your student needs the card for library, lunch, and other school related activities. Please share with your student(s) that they will need their ID card daily at school.

Warmly,

Mrs. Erica Gilbert, Principal

Dr. Jermaine Williams, Asst. Principal

Mr. Tony Tsujisaka, Asst. Principal
