McNear PTA Newsletter

THANK YOU!!
As the school year comes to a close, there are some people who deserve some major shout-outs for all the energy and devotion they bring to our school community.
Liz Foote
Liz is our fearless leader for the yearbook, and to say she does an amazing job is an understatement. She helps her crew of 6th graders bring their ideas to fruition, spending countless hours taking pictures, organizing kids to take pictures, designing layouts, proofreading, and managing all the details that make our yearbook so special. Liz, thank you for caring and working so hard.
Our Incoming PTA Board
We officially have our new Board! I’d like to thank all of these people for stepping up to steer our thriving PTA and to support all students at McNear. I’m excited to see what this new team will do next year! This includes …
Co-Presidents: Heather Jennings and Neil Smith
Executive Vice President: Michael Atiyeh
Treasurer: Rachel MacNeill
Teacher Supply Fund Treasurer: Korren Farkas
Secretary: Nicole Pattison
VP of Membership: Carrie Messner
VP of Fundraising: Leslie Buerger
Historian: Amy Anderson
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Harvest Festival Team Needed!
It’s time to start planning for the Harvest Festival next October. In years past we’ve had one or two leads who take this on and recruit help, but invariably no one can manage it for more than a few years (at most). Instead of having a revolving door of leaders, we’d like to create a committee that works together to make this happen. If interested in any of the following roles, please let me know (mcnearpta@gmail.com). If no one is willing to step up, then the Harvest Festival won’t happen!
Volunteer Coordinator
This person would create a Sign-Up Genius to gather all the needed volunteers for the day of the event.
Activity Coordinator
If you like to order bounce houses, climbing walls, and traveling museums, this is the job for you.
Games Coordinator
We need someone to organize the cake walk and organize/create all the fun game tables available to attendees. There is a list of past games, so you wouldn’t need to start from scratch.
Raffle Basket Coordinator
This person would communicate with each teacher and the McNear families about the raffle baskets, collect and arrange the donations, and run the raffle.
Food Coordinator
Decide what will be available to eat! We could do food trucks again, or come up with something else!
Communications Coordinator
Keep in contact with all the other coordinators and send out a concerted message in Facebook class pages and the newsletter.
FROM THE OFFICE
Lost and Found
Take a moment at dropoff or pickup to check the Lost & Found rack in front of Room 1. Anything not collected by the end of the year will end up being donated.
