Mr. and Mrs. Tomah have volunteered to lead the bake sale. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Tomah!! If you are able to donate nut-free individual baked goods, individual snack packages, pizza strips, or small water bottles, please send a quick email to Mr. Tomah at email@example.com letting him know what you plan to bring. All donated items can be dropped off in the office on March 27th at LaPerche, or brought directly to SHS before the show. RICAS Testing in ELA for Grades 3-5
Tuesday, April 10th, 9am to Wednesday, April 11th, 11am
11 Limerock Road
Our test last year, PARCC, was 7 sessions. I am happy to report that the new test is only 4 sessions, two for Math and two for ELA. Students are welcome to bring sugarless gum or small mints to school to chew or eat during testing.
Dates were originally shared last month and we asked that you avoid any vacations or appointments for 3rd-5th grade students on the dates listed above. The dates are also on the LaPerche school calendar.
This assessment will provide valuable information on our students’ progress in meeting the standards. Although RICAS is new to our state, it is the same assessment that is administered in Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS).
For more information about the new test, please visit Rhode Island Department of Education's website.
