BATTLE OF TRENTON

What was it ?

It was a surprise attack on the Hessian's where George Washington and 2,400 american troops crossed the Delaware river.

When did it happen?

Took place on the morning of December 26, 1776.

Who was involved?

George Washington led the main body of the continental army against the Hessian soldiers.

Why did it happen?

This battle happened at that time because the Hessian's put down their guards and wouldn't be ready for the attack.

Where did it occur?

It occurred in Trenton, New Jersey.

How did it end?

The American troops took the victory because they attacked when the Hessian's least expected it. Americans lost only 2 men because of Frostbite and 5 were wounded from battle. There were 22 Hessian's dead, 83 were wounded, and 896 were captured by the American troops.
