What is Solar Energy?
Solar energy refers to from the sun. The sun has produced energy for life forms. It is a renewable source of energy unlike non - renewable sources such as fossil fuels. Solar energy technologies use the sun's energy to light homes, produce hot water, heat homes and electricity.
A solar panel
This Is a solar panel. People use them so they don't have to use electricity and pay for it too. Solar panels are powered off of the Suns rays.
Renewable or Non renewable
Solar is renewable because the sun will never die out.
What are the disadvantages of useing solar energy?
Can not be created during the night. Making solar panels is very expensive
how is solar power used
Solar energy is used by a solar panel that collects energy from the sunset rays so in the night and day you can use electricity without paying for electricity that costs a lot of money.
where Is solar power most abundent at????
Solar energy is the most abundant energy resource on earth – 173,000 terawatts of solar energy strikes the Earth continuously. That's more than 10,000 times the world's total energy use.
advantages
Some advantages are:
Solar energy is powered off of the sun which means that you don't have to pay for regular electricity. Solar panels do not take up that much space for example:
Like on a roof, in a price of yard you don't use.
disadvantages
Some disadvantages are:
It cannot be created during the night. They can be hard to put in and difficult to dispose of. They are really expensive.
fun facts
1. The first silicon solar cell, the precursor of all solar-powered devices, was built by Bell Laboratories in 1954. On page one of its April 26, 1954 issue, The New York Timesproclaimed the milestone, “the beginning of a new era, leading eventually to the realization of one of mankind’s most cherished dreams -- the harnessing of the almost limitless energy of the sun for the uses of civilization.
