We plan to make many exciting basket themes this year (Game night, Crayola, Movies, Crazy Putty, Sports, Beach, Camping, Golf, Lego's and more. What is Move Up Day all about?
On the last day of school, June 26th, children entering Kindergarten – Grade 5 will participate in “Move-Up” Day. During this half-hour block of time on the last day of school, each student will have the opportunity to “move-up” to his/her 2018-2019 classroom. Each child will meet his/her 2018- 2019 classroom teacher(s), and will also have the opportunity to learn of and meet with other students who will be in his/her classroom next year. Your child will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain an understanding about the grade level in which they will be entering next year, including a brief overview grade-level expectations, the classroom routines, and about some of the fun activities in which he/she will participate next year.
Our goal is to provide students the opportunity to “put a face to the name” of their new teacher. That way, the new teacher will be a recognizable face when he/she returns to school in August. “Move-Up” Day will be a fun and positive experience for the students. It will be exciting to see the students sitting so straight and tall in the “older” kids’ classroom!
The current fifth graders will have some social time out on the playground with their classmates. They will have the opportunity to meet, talk, and just “hang-out” with their current classmates, discussing their memories from their time here at TES, and also discussing their plans for their future in middle school.
For the students not attending TES next year, we have scheduled them to stay in their current classroom to serve as a student ambassador to the incoming class. Please contact the main office with any questions or concerns about this.
