CSHS Weekly Bulletin
January 7-12, 2019
Welcome Back!
Dear Cougar Family,
On Monday, we welcome back our Cougars! Many will be happy to see us and feel relief at being back in the school routine. Others will be struggling with events and circumstances from the break. Still others, will be dreading that one class that is really hard for them or that one teacher who they think doesn't like them (which we know isn't true, but their perceptions are their realities). All of our Cougars deserve our best. All of them need to feel connected to our school community.
This year's theme, "Experience Excellence," was inspired by the Canlis family who run their family restaurant (that happens to be a fine dining establishment) in Seattle. Each day, they strive to "Keep the Promise" to one another and their customers, the promise to provide each diner with a singular experience. As we launch this semester, I encourage you to watch the video below from August's professional learning. What are the implications of this for our work each day? How will you continue to keep the promise and ensure our students experience excellence each and every day at CSHS?
In addition, please reflect on the Relationship Action Plan you wrote for January during our December faculty meeting. If you need a refresher on the strategies, you may find them here along with a blank action plan.
I am looking forward to what 2019 will bring to the Cougar Nation! Let us connect before content this week!
As always, COUGAR PRIDE!
Tiffany
1st Day of Semester Procedures for 1st Period
We are so excited to welcome our Cougars back to school on Monday, January 7, 2019!
At 8:15 AM (the first bell), all students will report to their 1st period, 1st semester classes to pick up a GOLDENROD copy of their 2nd semester schedules. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR TEACHER BOX BY 8:15 AM, so you are ready to distribute schedules during 1st period!
Students will be released to move to their new classes (if needed) upon receipt of their new schedules, and all students should be in the appropriate class by the tardy bell at 8:25 AM.
Seniors who are do not have a first or second period will pick their schedules up in the Counseling Office.
Also for Monday and the rest of the week - teachers should not let a student into their classes without a GOLDENROD schedule. Please check their roster with each student, their ID, and goldenrod schedule. Only send students to the Counseling Office who do not have a class in their schedule during that given time, have had that class before and received credit, or they have two of the same courses.
Cougar Gem Nominations Needed!
All faculty, counselors and administrators are welcomed to nominate 2 young ladies for this program by 5pm on January 15th. Please submit this nomination form.
We will meet once a month during the Advocate period. The official launch date will be on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2019.
