Crompond Connects
At Yorktown Central School District and Crompond Elementary, we are committed to educating the whole child and fostering welcoming environments for all students, families, and community members.
This month, students at Crompond are delving into the book "I am Human" by Susan Verde during library period, learning how our feelings connect us as a community and help us grow as individuals.
To showcase this understanding, our students have been creating a visual representation of the feelings that connect us all, which will be displayed in the Crompond hallways. Our students continue to develop their perspectives as empathetic world leaders showcased through their work in ESTEAM and showing HEART.

P.S. – Parents can even use the mailbox to send letters to their students!
BYSNS Community Skate
During the winter sports season, four school communities become one as Brewster, Yorktown, North Salem, and Somers combine to become the BYSNS ice-hockey team. The partnership brings together players, coaches, and families from each school.
To further develop that bond, the BYSNS held a “Community Skate” event at Brewster Ice Arena on Monday, January 16. Money raised at the event will support the ice-hockey program’s senior night, end-of-year banquet, and other expenses.
Coach Langkafel, who is also a teacher at Yorktown High School, said turnout for the event exceeded his expectations. The coach said it was nice to see the schools come together and to see people of all ages have some fun.
