Updates from Crystal
With that being said, Monday is our first #Blendit meeting. Initially this meeting was going to focus on math. Instead we will focus on Conscious Discipline. I put a survey in each box today. Please grab this Monday morning, complete it, and bring it to your grade level's meetings. There are only 5 questions...will take about 1 minute to complete-if that. You will also need your Conscious Discipline book. You are more than welcome to bring your teacher device, however we won't need it for our professional learning on Monday. We will need all 60 minutes, so please come right after dropping your kiddos off for specials. Specialty teachers-we will be working to establish a time that we can all meet for your training. I know SPED teachers have already chosen a grade level to join on these days.
Here are some other RANDOM updates:
- Staff meetings will be held in teachers classrooms moving forward, due to the volume of Boys and Girls Club. If you would like to volunteer to host the next staff meeting, please let Crystal know ASAP!
- T-shirts are ordered and once they come in we will have an all-school picture in front of the building. Stay tuned for more details!
- If you are doing a scavenger hunt at Open House, please include having each family take a picture in front of the Sherwood backdrop, which will be provided in each POD by PTA. Students from Carver will be at each backdrop taking the photos. If not, using a scavenger hunt, please incorporate this somewhere so that we can get a picture of each family. Thank you!
- During our 1st 20% time, I will provide an overview of what 20% time is and you can narrow your focus at that time. If you have not had your Tower Growth Plan meeting yet, please don't feel as if you have to answer that question at that time.
Every grade level will have a para. for 1 hour every day to work directly with students. The schedule is below. The expectation is that you plan a lesson for the para to teach a small group of students.

Safety & Security
- 3rd door will be open in the mornings instead of the first. However, when you come up on the weekends you will still need to open the first one with your key. The third door opens with an Allen Wrench.
- On the morning of September 14th we will have an all staff test of the *8 button on the phone system. This will happen at 8:15 a.m. Please try to be in your classrooms and respond on THIS google form to let us know if you heard Bri's announcement. We appreciate your help with this!

Tower Growth Plan Meetings...
- If you have not schedule a time to meet with me for your BOY Tower Growth plan meeting, please sign up here. I know I missed some meetings last week due to a last minute scheduled safety walk through with officers & Bryan Saunders. I apologize for that, I do know how valuable your time is and will try to do a better job this week of staying on schedule or letting you know ahead of time to reschedule. Thank you for your patience and flexibility. I have LOVED these meetings and am so excited about your goals and plans for meeting those goals! The questions are still below...
- What will you do to monitor progress toward meeting your goals?
- What are you measuring and what does success look like for each goal?
- We have talked about how you will monitor your growth and what success looks like, what can Misty and I do to support you in meeting your goals?
- What will you focus on during 20% time? How does this tie to the Tower goals discussed above?

The activity must align with the site PL plan. If you have any questions, feel free to ask Lara. The SPLS Funds Application can be found here and needs to be emailed to Lara once completed.
