Week 8!
Let's celebrate UNITY DAY! Our school has a wonderful program planned for our students tomorrow. In addition to the special assembly, students will also enjoy an orange candy treat during lunch. If you do not want your student to have candy, please notify me or let your child know that they should not have this. Please have your student show their unity by wearing orange! We look forward to sharing pictures and video from this event!
Here is this week's edition of Wolverines Growl. We are excited to showcase some of the learning that is happening in our classrooms!

The more pounds collected the more money Wilder can raise. Collections will start at the Harvest Family Festival (10/22). The goal is to collect until November 28 and deposit the bags into the green and white bin in Wilder's parking lot. The school with the most pounds will receive additional funds. Fall VGA Scores
This Fall and Winter, your child will take the Virginia Growth Assessments. These mandated statewide tests are given in grades 3-8 Reading and Mathematics and are designed to measure a student’s individual progress over time when compared to Standards of Learning (SOL) test scores. This year, students will be tested on content primarily from their current grade level to identify areas needing additional support and any areas of strength. While there is no passing or failing score on this test, teachers will use the test results to guide instruction throughout the year at the individual student level, in small groups, and in whole groups.
The Virginia Department of Education has developed an online method for parents/guardians to receive their child’s test results. The Virginia Assessment Parent Portal is a web-based portal where you can create a user account and gain access to your child's test results for certain statewide assessments. You will be able to review your child’s report for each test completed and, in most cases, you will be able to view a personalized video.
Beginning on September 23, 2022, scores will post on Fridays throughout the testing window for tests taken the week prior. To access your child’s test scores after testing,
1. Click on this link to get to the Henrico County Public Schools PowerSchool Parent Portal: https://henricoschools.us/online-services/.
2. Once logged in, click on “Account Access.” Once on the page, you will see “Virginia Assessment Parent Portal Account Information,” which includes your student’s name, and claim code. This information is needed to access the scores from the Virginia Assessment Parent Portal. You must enter the claim code each time new tests are taken to access the results.
3. Click on this link to go to the Virginia Assessment Parent Portal: https://va-results.pearsonaccessnext.com/login
4. If you already have an account, log in. If you do not have an account, click Sign Up.

If you have questions related to your school’s testing processes, need assistance with the parent portal, or would prefer a paper copy of your child’s report, please contact our school’s test coordinator at Wilder Middle School. If you have questions about the federal, state or division assessment policies, please contact Angela Bell ambell@henrico.k12.va.us or Kelli Brown, kcbrown@henrico.k12.va.us.
