Artist in the Spotlight

The Art of Music

Alessia Cara

This 19 year old Canadian musician is up and coming. I had the privilege of attending her concert February 1st, 2016. Her music captures me and I was truly mesmerized by her performance. She is one of the only artists that take the road less traveled and focus on messages that can make a difference in the mainstream world of music.

Alessia Cara signed to East Coast Def Jam and debuted her hit song "Here" and her album "Four Pink Walls".

"I always told myself that if I was going to be given a voice, I might as well say something worth listening to and not something that's just going to feed people stupidity."

Secular Music?

As an aspiring Christian singer I think that it's important that people don't run away when they hear the words "Christian singer". We all share the same love for music regardless of whether an artist is mentioning the words "Hallelujah" or "baby". Sending the message to the world, attempting to change lives through the music, and carrying out the calling we have on our lives is something everyone can relate to regardless of the career choice.
