Maire newsletter: May 3rd edition
Dear Maire Families
I want to thank all the community members who came to our “Coffee Q & A” with Dr. Niehaus and Board President Brian Summerfield this week. Your presence spoke volumes on how you care for your school, but most importantly, you handled yourselves with grace and class in a very difficult time. I encourage you to continue to reach out to board members to share your concerns, to ask questions, and to talk about the strengths of our school. The Maire Town Hall is scheduled for Thursday, May 9th at 6:30 pm. The Grosse Pointe community will have impacts from whatever decision is made. I am confident that having community members like we have (respectful, supportive, passionate), no matter what happens, we will handle things with a lens of doing whatever we can to best support kids.
On a different note, springtime is here and the school is buzzing with exciting events. The 2nd grade Living Museums are in full swing. The Spring concert is fast approaching. Our 5th Grade Expo, the Diverse Desserts night, and Field Day are highlights of the year. Not to mention the end of the year parties! We have a ton of fun opportunities that we get to look forward to and experience. The energy in the building is amazing and we can’t wait to share in all these great events with the community!
Sincerely ,
Ryan Francis
Proud Principal of Maire
