Superstar Snapshots

September 2019

Happy New Year!

Welcome to the 2019 – 2020 school year! Throughout the summer, much work was done to make sure this is the best year yet at St. Helens. I want to thank you in advance for your help in making this year a success!

My name is Stephanie Teel, and I am the principal. For those that haven’t met me, I have been in education since 1996. I have taught in Texas and Washington, from preschool to sixth grade and am beginning my ninth year as an administrator.

One of my goals this year is to increase the amount of communication between school and home. You can expect a monthly school bulletin at the beginning of each month. It will be available on our Facebook page, school website, and in print if requested. The purpose of these is to keep you as informed as possible.

We are also working to show our school pride and spirit. We invite all of our Superstars to wear our school colors (red, white, and blue) or a school shirt on Wednesdays. On Fridays, students are invited to wear Seahawks colors or the colors of their favorite football team. Once football is done, our school spirit day will move to Fridays.

Thank you for partnering with us and for entrusting us with your child. If you ever have any questions, concerns, or would like to visit, feel free to contact the school and make an appointment.

Have a great school year!

Stephanie Teel, Principal

Counselor's Corner

Hello Parents! We are so glad to have you students back with St. Helens and look forward to another year of learning. As your student’s School Counselor I wanted to introduce myself and make you aware of my role.

This is my eighth year at St. Helens and I’m thankful to be part of a staff that is a family. I like to share with students that my job as a School Counselor is simply to be here to help. This ‘help’ is meant to assist students to find success in the personal, social & academic areas of their lives. School Counseling services are delivered through classroom lessons, small groups and individual meetings. I also collaborate with parents and staff to make sure student’s needs are being meet.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me at (360) 575-7368 or jthomas@longview.k12.wa.us. I look forward to working with you and helping your student have a successful year!

We Need Your Help!

To help our Superstars have a great day and be Superstar citizens, please remember:

  • if your child does not want to go to the gym, please wait down by the gym instead of the area outside of the office.
  • school starts at 8:30. Please have your student here on time every day.
  • if your child does not arrive before 9:45, please call the office so we can order a lunch.
  • early check outs count against your child's attendance.
