Christ Bearers for 2nd Quarter
January 17, 2017
A message from our principal
This morning we recognized many of our students for their outstanding academic achievement. We are really proud of each of our students. Working to do our best is using the special gifts our Heavenly Father has given to each of us.
We need your help. Over the next two weeks, Holy Family Catholic School has opportunities to display the great school and community spirit to others in our parish.
HFCS will be hosting Hospitality Weekend at the HFCC Masses on Jan. 21-22. Students who come to Mass in their uniforms may wear non-uniform dress on Monday, Jan. 23.
Additionally, our Open House is on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 28-29. Students who attend Mass in their HFCS uniform may wear non-uniform dress on Monday, Jan. 30.
We especially need student volunteers to be altar servers, greeters, lectors & ushers (Middle School preferably). They need to sign in with Miss Klement, Advancement Coordinator.
This is a great opportunity to share the wonderful things that are Holy Family Catholic School. Thank you for choosing Holy Family. God bless you and yours.
Peace in Christ,
Dr. John Shreve

TEXAS CATHOLIC CONFERENCE OF BISHOPS
Each legislative session, the Texas Catholic Conference has actively worked to pass school choice legislation. Last session, we came closer than ever before, passing a school choice tax credit plan in the Senate and getting a third of the members of the Texas House to sign on (ultimately a vote was never taken). To keep that momentum going we need your help to build on the progress we have made so far.
On January 24, 2017, the Texas Catholic Conference is joining with many advocacy partners in sponsoring a kid-friendly School Choice rally at the State Capitol in Austin. We would like to have a great turnout of Catholic school students, in uniform, attending the event. There will be marching bands, dancing, live music, and opportunities to hear from statewide elected officials.
This is a voluntary outing and not a required school field trip. However, it will be an excused absence if you wish to bring your child / children. If you are interested in attending this special event, please contact Dr. Shreve at (817) 737-4201.
Volunteer opportunities
We need your photos! Please send any photos to Trisha Klement.
Altar Cloth Sewing. Each classroom has an altar with various religious articles displayed. Altar cloths in the colors of the liturgical year are included, and we need red and white cloths sewn. We are in need of red and white, should you have any extra you could donate. Please contact Trisha Klement to donate or volunteer. If you are in need of a sewing machine, there is one available to borrow.
Copy Room Assistants. The staff members will fill out a print request and attach the originals that need to be copied. The volunteer(s) will make their copies and place the papers in the staff member's designated tray. We are looking for volunteers for any days Monday - Friday, and hoping for a morning and an afternoon volunteer. Training on the copy machine will be provided.
HSA Secretary. Attend monthly meetings, take notes and type them up and write any thank you notes for the association.
Lunchroom Monitors. Assist during lunch from 11 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. We need help on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday and every other Friday.
If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please email Ann Bjelland or text (817) 925-3279 unless otherwise noted.
