Habit 4: Think Win-Win
To go for win-win, you not only have to be empathic, but you also have to be confident. You not only have to be considerate and sensitive, but you also have to be brave. That balance between courage and consideration is the essence of real maturity and is fundamental to win-win.
Here are some ways to exemplify this habit:
- Stop comparing yourself to others.
- Celebrate others' successes.
- Share compliments, praise, credits and rewards lilberally.
- Celebrate your own unique strengths.
- Talk straight but be respectful.
- Don't interrupt others.
- Share your ideas and opinions with confidence.
- Listen and acknowledge other people's ideas and opinions
- Welcome and listen to honest feedback from others.
- Make sure everyone has a chance to speak and be heard.
- Think, "What would make this a win for me and the other person?"
- Make an Emotional Bank Account (EBA) to a friend by saying a kind word or showing kind actions.

PARTIES
PARTIES:
The School Board’s School Wellness Policy states that all foods served or sold to students in schools during the school day, including school and classroom celebrations, classroom activities, vending machines, school stores, athletic events or fundraising should model a healthy lifestyle.
Any distribution of food to students must come in individually pre-packaged and sealed products.
Birthday parties at school are discouraged. Small class recognitions are only allowed with prior approval of the teacher and conducted in the last 15 minutes of the school day or during lunch, as this interferes with the educational time.
If choosing to serve food, student must have a healthy choice to accompany any sugary snack.
If it is necessary to distribute party invitations at school, there must be one for every student in the class and the teacher must be aware of distribution.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures Reminder
Arrival Procedures
PES doors are opened at 7:45 a.m. The earliest time for a student to be dropped off is 7:45 am. This is extremely important, if your child is dropped off earlier, there is not any supervision. Supervision begins at 7:45 a.m.to guarantee that every student is safe. Please use the front (east side) of the school by the flag poles when dropping off your child in the mornings. The tardy bell rings at 8:25 a.m. It is critical that all students are in their classrooms ready for the day’s instruction by this time.
Dismissal Procedures
Students are dismissed from their classrooms at 2:50 p.m. Our dedicated teachers definitely maximize the instructional time throughout the day. They teach right to the dismissal bell. When a student leaves early, they are missing a vital part of their education.
