Weekly Learning Objectives
Please Remember- read with your child for 20 minutes each evening. We are starting to keep track of our reading with reading logs. Please help your child fill it in each evening. Thanks!
Math- We will practice skip counting, adding, and comparing numbers while working within the math workshop.
Quick Idea- Continue quizzing basic math facts in quick short bursts. In the car, before dinner, after breakfast, etc.
You can also grab a deck of cards. You pull a card, your child pulls a card. The first one to add the two cards correctly gets to keep them. The player with the most cards wins. Face cards always equal 10 to keep things simple. *Parents- you may want to "let your child win" several hands the first few times you play. Over time you'll need to shorten your answer time which will encourage your child to answer faster.
Science- We will classify matter and learn how to describe the physical properties of matter. Ask your child how they could classify the shirts in their closet/drawers.
