A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
While it might not look or feel like it outside, Spring is upon us. As our seasons try to change, it is a good time for our Sabers to reflect on the goals they set for themselves this semester. An individual’s ability to reach a goal, often involves their willingness and ability to engage in what Jeff Howard, a social psychologist, called “effective effort” behaviors to reach said goal. Effective effort requires time, focus, use of feedback, resourcefulness, commitment, and persistence. Reaching an impactful goal is rarely easy.
What can adults who are in our students' lives do to help our students reach their goals? One step is to check in with our students. Is your goal clear? Do you have a schedule and resources to make progress towards your goal? What will progress towards your goal look like? Who can help you with your goal? The more individuals who invest time and show interest in the success of every individual student, the more likely our students are to be successful.
The change of seasons in Wisconsin is never easy or predictable. Change and growth can be hard. Here is to believing in our students and supporting them in their pursuit of getting better and reaching their goals.
Sincerely,
Mike Vuolo
FHS SABER THEATER PRESENTS “ANYTHING GOES!” THIS WEEKEND
It's delightful, delicious and de-lovely! This comedic musical features dancing, singing, and madcap antics aboard the S.S. American bound from New York to London. Billy Crocker is a stowaway in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Public Enemy Number 13, "Moonface" Martin, aid Billy in his quest to win Hope. After disguises, ploys, confessions, mistaken identities, and marriage proposals, all done to the fantastic music of Cole Porter, how will everything work out? Who knows? Anything Goes!
Thurs, March 16 @ 6:00
Fri, March 17 & Sat, March 18 @ 7:00
Sun, March 19 @ 2:00

During the YMHFA course, participants develop an understanding of the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in youth, the importance of early intervention, and how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Participants will engage in a 2-hour self-paced course followed by a 4.5 hour in-person session with a district trainer. If you are interested in engaging in this Fall training, please complete this form no later than Wednesday, March 15th.
