Counselor Corner
Do you know what to do if you have a conflict with a friend? Second graders are learning about the Wheel of Strategies, with great lifelong tips to use. A easy first idea is to take a deep breath and consider if an apology will help. Other strategies that may help include: Stop, Walk & Talk; Talk things out or use an “I message”; Agree to Disagree; Share and Take Turns; or ignore it if it isn’t a big deal. These strategies work with siblings and also adults. Help your child develop these skills by practicing at home. For more conflict resolutions tips contact Ms. Shaw, School Counselor at LShaw@methacton.org or 610-489-5000 X41207.
