End of a GREAT School Year!

Hard to believe we are coming to the end of the 22-23 school year! What learning we have done, friendships we have made, and memories we take with us into the summer. The last two weeks of school are jam packed with learning, celebrations and activities. This newsletter will outline some of the great work that has been done and the events coming up.

Tomorrow, June 1st is the SAFETY PATROL trip. If your 5th grader was in Safety Patrol, please make sure they bring their swimsuit and towel (locker rooms are open) for our trip tomorrow. Busses will leave shortly after 8:10 AM. Your child DOES NOT need money or their phone, as we will have all the emergency information and the lunch and event is paid for.

Purdy Palooza is June 2nd from 1-3! Special thanks to our PTO for putting on this event and to our generous sponsors and volunteers! It will be an afternoon of great fun!

STEP UP DAY! While we will not be able to give out next year's class assignments yet, we are holding a grade level "Step Up" on June 7. Our 5th graders will help guide our students to their next grade level teachers. Students will be able to meet the teachers, share some things they may be excited (or nervous about) for next year, and have a "meet and greet". We hope that this eases any nervousness around next year, and they will enjoy meeting the teachers who are teaching the next grade level!

We will highlight our 5th graders as they move on to the world of Middle School on June 8th! We will host a breakfast (thank you PTO) and have a celebration of accomplishments! We know they will take all of what they learned at Purdy and become GREAT leaders at our Middle School!

Our last day of school is June 8th and we dismiss at 12:00! We will be serving school lunch, so please discuss with your child if they will be taking a lunch from school (it will be charged to the lunch account), as we will need a count ahead of time to make enough bagged lunches.

As the year comes to a close, we all want to say thank you for trusting us to join in the journey of educating your child. We have so much to be proud of in our school district and at Purdy!

THANK YOU for sharing your children with us!

GRAD Walk!

We hosted our Purdy Seniors for the GRAD walk on May 31st! What a wonderful time to highlight the accomplishments of our seniors and allow our students to see what they have ahead of them to accomplish! A wonderful tribute to our GRADS!

JUMP START to BAND!

Incoming 5th graders have the opportunity to learn about and play each of the band instruments in order to make a more educated decision when choosing what to play. Each day will focus on a particular family of instruments. June 27-29, 12:30-2:00.
