Important Information: Absences and AIR Testing at the JH

Sycamore Junior High will administer the AIR assessments on April 15, 16, 22, 23 and 29.

Please mark these dates on your calendars and make every effort not to schedule your child for appointments or vacation days.

If you know your child will be absent due to religious observances or will be otherwise unavoidably absent, please contact Lesli Lally at 686-1760 x2502 or as soon as possible so arrangements can be made. Thank you.

Reminder of Cell Phone Policy

As a reminder to students and parents, cell phones are to be turned off and placed in the student's locker at the beginning of the school day and not removed and turned back on until the end of the day. Thank you for cooperation and collaboration.

Join the PTO! Being a member of the PTO doesn’t mean you have to volunteer and attend meetings, although everyone is welcome to do either/both! Joining the PTO shows your financial support for our programs that recognize students and teachers in our building. PTO membership is $10 ($11 online) and can be done online. Box Tops

Check your Cabinets, Send in Box Tops!

There are still some products that have Box Tops that can be clipped and redeemed for $$$ for our school. Be sure to check your cabinets, clip those box tops and place them in our Box Tops collection box outside of the office by Thursday, February 28th! Many box tops will expire on 3/1/20 – be sure to send those so we can get credit.

You can always scan your receipt to get credit anytime! Be sure to download the Box Tops App today.

Scheduling Central

7th Grade Parents - Message from our JH Counselors

Students should have entered their course requests into the online scheduling portal by Wednesday, February 12. In order to log in to the portal, students will need to use the username and password provided on the bottom of the course selector.

On Friday, February 21, verification sheets will be sent home with all students so that course requests can be reviewed.

In Case You Missed It

Safer Schools Ohio


Safer Schools Ohio is a multi-agency effort created to assist schools in continuously improving the safety of our students. By calling or texting the statewide anonymous hotline parents, students or community members can report anything that is suspicious or endangering you, your friends or your school.

Lost & Found

If your child is missing items, please have him or her check the tables in the cafeteria. Items are removed by our PTO volunteer on a regular (usually bi-weekly) basis.

Immunizations for 7th graders

Thank you to all 7th grade families who have turned in immunization records. As we work to process those records received, please continue to be patient before you follow up. If there is a problem, you will be contacted via email by Amy Bonham. If you have not turned in your child's proof of immunizations from a doctor's office, please do so ASAP.

Join us at Cabaret on Saturday, February 22nd at 7pm as The Hub at Sycamore High School is transformed into a jazz club serving complimentary drinks and desserts.

Hear the voices of choral students like you’ve never heard them before! Performers sing as soloists and in small ensembles accompanied by piano or guitar. You will enjoy original compositions, jazz tunes, folk music and musical theatre songs.

Advance tickets are $10 and are on-sale on, and will be sold at lunches and conferences on Thursday, February 20th and lunches on Friday, February 21st.

Remaining tickets will be sold at the door for $12.

Doors open at 6:30p. Come early for dessert!

The event is sponsored by the Sycamore Vocal Boosters.

Join us for songs and syrup on February 29 at Sycamore High School! SBOB will be serving a pancake breakfast and our Grades 5-12 band and orchestras will be performing throughout the day:

Fashion for the Cure

Come support one of the biggest fundraisers for The Dragonfly Foundation. This event is put on by a talented team at Sycamore High School and features fashion designed and modeled by SHS students.
