FAQs for Spotlight
- How often is Spotlight published? Twice monthly. See schedule below.
- When do I submit information for Spotlight? By 4pm on the Monday before publication.
- How do I submit information for Spotlight? Either upload to your school folder in this Google Folder or email to: mcsscomm@mcssk12.org. See email format in December KC Update at this link.
- How many items can I submit? You can submit as many as you would like, however they may not all be included.
- What types of information should I submit? Special recognitions of students, staff, and teachers. Special events/activities. Interesting classroom lessons. Field trips and other trips. Sports/Organization activities. Please submit photos with your information.
- Should photos show faces of students? YES! Unless a student has a signed opt-out form, we can show students' faces. In fact, if your photos don't show faces, then they are less likely to be included in Spotlight. Be sure to label photos to match your writeup.
- Can I submit photo collages? Yes, but they must be in grid format and contain no more than six photos. Smaller photos in collages do not allow for clear viewing of people or the activity. The best collage formats were shown in the December KC Update. You can see them at this link.
- Can I submit videos? Yes, but they must be in a specific format for Smore. Upload to YouTube, Vimeo, or Viddler and send the URL. Links to published news stories and videos are good too.
