TEST AND STAY
Just a reminder to consider signing up for the Test and Stay program that APS is offering to all students. This is a voluntary program. It is strongly encouraged for families to fill out this consent BEFORE your child is identified as a close-contact or has symptoms in school. This may prevent your child from going home the day of exposure and he/she will be able to test that day.
According to DESE, districts are strongly encouraged to utilize the new Test and Stay protocol option to minimize the amount of time individuals are out of school. Test and Stay testing will require permission from a parent/guardian for students. Consent forms can be found on this link:
Test and Stay is available to students as a result of these two scenarios only:
Asymptomatic Close-Contacts- students identified as an asymptomatic close-contact while in school. These students are highly recommended to follow quarantine rules for 7 days outside of school.
Symptomatic Testing- students who develop symptoms while at school
Results will be available in 15 minutes. If negative, individuals can remain in school. Positive test results will result in immediate dismissal. The test will be administered daily in the school clinic for a duration of 7 days from the date of exposure. You will only be notified if there is a positive test result. In either scenario, please continue to monitor your child for symptoms for fourteen days.

South Elementary families!
We are only 2 weeks away from our South Elementary Fun Run kickoff on 10/1. Our goal is to raise $20,000 for the courtyard and curriculum enrichment.
REGISTRATION IS NOW OFFICIALLY OPEN!
We want all families to help our school by registering on MYBOOSTER.COM today and enter your family’s details. If your family feels it’s not in the position to financially support the school, that’s ok. Families can actually support our school by also SHARING about our fundraiser with friends and family online. Sharing IS supporting. When you register on MYBOOSTER.COM, there are easy share features available that you can use as a great tool to help!
We are working hard to make this fundraiser safe, fun, and successful for everyone!
HELP WANTED - SUBSTITUTES AND LUNCH MONITORS!!
As you know, the beginning of the school year can be a crazy time! Trying to understand and navigate all the digital platforms that our students use can be confusing. This year we are happy to announce that we have a short mini course for parents in Schoology. We have a few “lessons” that hopefully give you a better understanding of the tools we use and how to find help.
The course touches on some of the major the Digital Learning Tools (including a few Schoology tutorials), Student Data Privacy, and a guide on how to find help throughout the school year for any specific questions you may have. Also, as a fun bonus you can earn a “badge” for completing the course. A badge is simply a little recognition that you completed the course and gets “pinned” to your Schoology profile if you choose to participate.
To access the course all you need to do is visit, https://www.andoverlms.schoology.com. Use Your Aspen Family Portal credentials to log in. Once in Schoology, navigate to Courses. There you will find the Andover Parent Course. Once you click in the course you can open the folder and begin! Here is a video tutorial to help you with the steps to access the course:
