The Good News

September 18, 2016 - St. John XXIII School

Leadership Team Message

Three weeks of school under our belt and we couldn't have asked for better!

We have been popping into classrooms and spending some time with the students and we are overjoyed to see the learning taking place. We have so much to be grateful for here at St. John XXIII: Faith, Family, Friends, Health, and Happiness! Amen!

We had a tasty Panago Hot Lunch on Thursday and our Hot Lunch Volunteer Committee did a fantastic job organizing and distributing our lunches to the children. If you would like to be involved on a committee, we know our Parent School Council have opportunities for you. If you are interested (and it is a great way to be involved with your child's school experience), fill out the form below. We have noticed that some parents have been entering the parking lot to drop of students in the morning. Please, please respect the signage that is out every day asking you not to enter the parking lot for the safety of the children. There is no place to turn around and this presents a HUGE safety issue as we have too many little people running around the area. Remember parents, you are your child's first teacher and modelling responsible behaviours is so important. Thank you for your support.

We also have to acknowledge the truly wonderful group of parents we have at St. John XXIII - your interest, engagement, concern, and care for your child's learning is so appreciated!

Happy 4th week everybody - let's make it awesome!

Blessings,

Mrs. Melnyk and Mrs. Weller

Building Security and Visitors in the School

On the "theme" of safety for our school community, parents we ask you to please sign in at the office before entering the building. Our staff wear our id badges and we ask, if you are volunteering or coming into the school for ANY reason, please sign in and let us know you are here in the building. Our responsibility in the office is knowing who is in the building at all times.

We also would like to ask parents to kindly wait outside at the doors for your children to be dismissed. Our halls are far too congested to have and extra 100 people roaming the halls at the end of the day. Once again, we thank you for your cooperation.
