Milton's Media Musings
What's Happening in Your Library
January/February 2016
Our Professional Collection is Growing!
Thank you to all of the teachers who provided lists of titles, professional text suggestions, and feedback on our collection. We have added a significant number of professional books to our collection this year. The titles have been compiled into lists that can be found on Destiny (our school online catalog). Just click on the "Resource Lists" from the main page, then look at our "Public Lists," or click here. Please visit the library if you have any questions!
Author's Day
Trinka Hakes Noble is visiting Milton on Monday, March 21st! We are so happy to be hosting this local author who has been publishing books for over 35 years. Her most recent story, The Legend of the Sea Glass, is just one of her wonderful legend stories. The Legend of the Cape May Diamond and The Legend of the Jersey Devil have been student favorites!
Screen Free Days
As you know, our district is observing Screen Free Days in the coming months. Please stop by the library for wonderful read-alouds or activity books. Spend an afternoon learning origami or making paper airplanes - math and science!
GAFE is coming!
What?! GAFE (Google Apps for Educators)! By now you probably have some familiarity with Google's suite of products including Google Docs and Forms. There is so much more to the classroom tools available. After training in March, we will be turnkey training Milton's teachers this spring. Look for training session info to follow!

"The idea behind The World Through Picture Books is to create a list of picture books from around the world that have been recommended by librarians, as a tool for building bridges and developing understanding between countries."
