Free rapid Testing for Students

As the school year continues, the health and safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. In an effort to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we are pleased to share that we will be taking part in a statewide program offering rapid tests for use in schools free of charge.

This program uses BinaxNOW tests, which provide results in 15 minutes and are administered using a nasal swab in the front area of the nostril. These tests have been shown accuracy rates of 97-98% for symptomatic individuals.

Parents, a Student Consent Form for optional COVID-19 testing at school was sent home on a blue form. Students can take the test if they show symptoms or if they were a close contact of someone who tested positive for COVID-19. The nurse would call parents before administering the test to the students. We will only test with your consent.

If you did not receive the form you can get another one from Martin's front office to give permission for the nurse to perform the test when needed.

Student Safety

Parents who have WEST student walkers, we are asking you not to park on the street, Hendlon or Belle Glen, for the safety of all students. We are asking that you park at the Library if you do not want to wait in the car riders line and then walk up to meet your student or tell them to meet you at the library. It can be dangerous for our students with so many cars moving around with the walkers. Help us to keep all students safe. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
