Human Ice Cream Sundaes

Our students were completely successful in achieving their reading goals!! They were challenged to read 93,000 minutes during our reading month, and they not only beat, but exceeded, and logged 107,659 minutes!! Great job and great reading!! As their reward, five faculty members (including both me and Assistant Principal, Amanda DeBoer) will be turned into human ice cream sundaes today at the hands of our top readers!! This fun - and super messy - event will take place in the gym at 2:00 p.m. today.

Good Friday holiday

As a reminder, there are no instructional classes tomorrow for the holiday. Please also note that we will only open the preschool until 7:15 a.m. at which time we will open the elementary building and relocate the students. Elementary students should have signed up already for the day; there is an additional fee for elementary students for tomorrow's holiday. We are open normal hours tomorrow.

Earth Day - Monday, April 22nd

All students will participate in various Earth Day activities on Monday, April 22nd. All preschool students will do a ladybug release at 10:00 that day; please send your preschool child to school wearing red and / or black for this fun event. We will be releasing 5000 ladybugs!!

Family Referral

Congratulations to the Sabti family for winning the family referral basket this month with Merryhill attire and goodies, as well as a $50 Chili's gift certificate! In addition, they will receive one free week of tuition once the family they referred has been enrolled for three months.

We appreciate your referral of friends and family looking for a great school for their children! Our next drawing will be May 15th.

Big picture

Ribbon Cutting

As we have renewed our membership with the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce, they will be hosting a ribbon cutting for us on Tuesday, April 30th at 10:00 a.m. We would love to have any of our families join us for this event! We asked that all of our preschool students come dressed in Merryhill colors that day - blue and yellow. All elementary students will wear normal uniforms.

We will host a light brunch for any guests that are here, immediately following the ribbon cutting. Thank you for supporting our school.

Family Movie Night - Toy Story - Friday, May 3rd

Registration forms for our next Family Movie Night will be coming home today! This is a wonderful family event with dinner and movie out on the lawn under the stars! Each family receives a pizza and four drinks; you can choose to purchase additional pizza, drinks, and popcorn bar! Forms are due by April 24th.

Teddy Bear Donations

We are supporting the teddy bear donation drive for Cooks Children's Medical Center over the next two weeks. There is a collection area in each office. These must be new teddy bears and need to be 7-18" in size. If you have any other critters that are new in those same size parameters, they will accept those and use them in the emergency room. All bears must be here by April 26th. Our 4th-6th grade students will deliver them to the hospital. Thank you for helping us to give back to children as they experience a scary time at the hospital.

Ronald McDonald House Pop Tab Drive

Our 1st grade students are collecting pop tabs for the drive through Ronald McDonald House. Please save the tabs off of the tops of your cans and put them in your classroom's collection box. Thank you for supporting the Ronald McDonald House.
