*DEDICATION*GROWTH*COMMUNITY*
Message from the Principal
Dear Knights,
By the time you read this message, mid quarter progress reports will have been posted. Make sure to review these to create a plan on how to continue your growth in each class. Take advantage of teacher office hours to get the help you need. The last few weeks have been a lot of fun for me as I am getting to know each of you more. I am enjoying spending some time with the carom crew during lunch, my after school crew as you wait for your bus that is always late and had a wonderful time meeting some of you that are participating in the academic pentathlon. Of course, I love engaging with you about what you are learning when I see you in your classes. My favorite part of the day is greeting you as you get onto our campus and seeing you leave just as cheerfully at dismissal. Thank you for always greeting me and working hard daily.
Knights - I need your help with being safe. Please ONLY walk to your destinations and make sure that you are not placing your backpack in a hazardous fashion during lunch.
Don't forget to complete this form that StuCo put together to gather input from all students regarding spirit themes.
Support our Booster Club - They are running the restaurant fundraiser on 08/23/2022 with Lou Malnati's Pizzeria at all 3 locations. Mention ACP fundraiser or us FUNDACP22 for an online order! We appreciate your support. Please see what more you can do to support the Booster Club below in the Booster Club section. Coming soon will be a donation drive with rewards such as Otter Pops during lunch, free homework pass, free dress week, etc.,
Action Item for Parents:

Opportunities
2022-2023 American Essay Contest (attached below is the form to complete if taking part):
The ambition and goal of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Americanism Program is to raise the spirit of American patriotism and to increase an awareness — a genuine feeling of pride and respect toward patriotism. Therefore, Chandler Elks Lodge #2429 would like to provide a special opportunity for 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th grade teachers and students to participate in our Annual Americanism Essay Contest. This year’s theme is “What is Your American Dream?”
New this year, there are four divisions (not two) for judging essays:
- Division 1 (fifth grade)
- Division 2 (sixth grade).
- Division 3 (seventh grade)
- Division 4 (eighth grade)
The local lodge will select a 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winner from each Division. Local lodge essay winners and sponsoring teachers will receive an invitation to an Awards Dinner in their honor at the Chandler Elks Lodge in late May 2023. Each winner will also receive an award certificate and a gift certificate.
Local winning essays will be also forwarded on to District, State and National competitions respectively. Awards and/or plaques will be awarded at each level. National Winners will be announced at the Grand Lodge Session in July 2023. National Winners will receive monetary awards of 1st Place: $1,000, 2nd Place: $500 and 3rd Place: $250.

PLEASE MAKE A TAX CREDIT DONATION TO ACP MIDDLE SCHOOL
Arizona tax law allows individual taxpayers to claim a nonrefundable tax credit for making contributions or paying fees directly to a public school in AZ for support of eligible activities and programs.
At the junior high level, the school office is unable to reallocate / redirect funds without parent and district approval. Be sure to select the specific fee for the activity where you want your payment applied. Sports fees are assigned quarterly and club fees are assigned once established.
When paying fees online (band/ orchestra, club or athletics fees, etc.), please consider making an additional contribution to our general fund in December to reach the maximum credit allowable.
http://az01001175.schoolwires.net/page/1131
Once you have paid all outstanding fees for ACP Middle School or if you have a family member that resides in AZ, please consider making an additional tax credit contribution to ACP's general fund before December 31st. If you are able to make your tax contributions prior to the end of the calendar year, your donation would be greatly appreciated. It will help give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50,000.00 this school year and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and ACP Middle School!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
