December 12th - 2 hour early release day for students

Grade 6 Information
The second Trimester has begun! As first term grades are finalized Mrs. DeHaan will be meeting with students of academic concern to get them on the right track for the second trimester. All 6th-grade students will have had individual meetings with Mrs. DeHaan to review their adjustment to middle school, grades, and social connections. Students who may be struggling in those areas will have follow up meetings.
Developmental Guidance lessons will continue in the classroom focusing on empathy, teasing, and bullying.
Grade 7 Information
December already!! With Trimester 1 over and grades being finalized, Mrs. Barber-Devine will begin meeting with any new students of academic concern as well as continue to meet with those still struggling. This month's Guidance lesson will focus on empathy, respect, tolerance, and acceptance of individual differences. Students will understand that empathy is essential in preventing teasing and bullying. Happy Holidays!
Grade 8 Information
Please keep high school application deadlines in mind! Wilcox applications are due to Guidance by December 13th. Please be sure they are completed and signed. LHHS Agricultural Science and Technology Center applications are due to Guidance by January 3rd. Transcripts requested for certain schools will be sent out on December 4th once grades for trimester one are stored. Other applications will be due two weeks prior to deadlines. Mrs. Funaro will also be meeting with students of academic concerns and will be goal setting with students.
GOOD TO KNOW INFORMATION
ECA
Any Sheehan-bound 8th-grade students interested in taking ECA classes (Educational Center for the Art) in the areas of creative writing, dance, visual arts, music or theater, please see Mrs. Funaro in guidance for more information. Holiday Stress
Usually, we associate the holidays with happiness and cheer. Often the holidays can be very stressful for many reasons. This article gives tips for helping to minimize the stress that accompanies the festivities. Hoping your holidays are full of joy!
