Paws for Pride . . .
Congratulations to last week's Paws for PRIDE winners: Nathan Burroughs, Kathryn Bell, Ryan Devine, Madeline Gorniak, Damien Gentile, Rylie DiCesare, and Keith Conner.
These students were chosen at random to be recognized and celebrated for demonstrating one of our five character traits - Pride, Respect, Individual Responsibility, Determination & Empathy. Thank you to all of the Titus families for your support of our Paws for PRIDE program.
Change in Dismissal?
If it is necessary to change your normal pick-up routine at the end of the day, a written note should be presented to the classroom teacher, who will share the information with the office.
Any phone calls regarding an unexpected change in end-of-day plans must be directed to the office by 2:30 PM (267 893-4500, dial zero for the office) or via e-mail (email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org) and not directly to the classroom teacher, as they do not pick up phone calls or messages during the instructional day.
One final note: The end of our school day is 3:15 PM. To avoid unnecessary stress and disruption to the dismissal process, students needing to leave early should be picked up by 2:45 PM.
Kickball Champions . . .
Deep into November, our 3rd & 4th graders were finishing their second annual Kickball Tournament at recess. We had 9 teams enter this year with the same team goal - to have fun! The winners of the 2015 Kickball Tournament: The Jakes. Congratulations!
iPad Apps - Rumor Has It You Are Curious . . .
During the most recent Home & School Association Meeting, November 18th, Miss Quaresima did a presentation on iPads in the K-2 Classrooms. The presentation sparked a discussion around the apps students are using in the classroom. In response to the discussion, we want to provide you with an exhaustive list of all the apps currently used throughout the district. Please click here to find the iPad Link under parent resources on our website. The apps are organized using Excel spreadsheets.

SAC Spirit Day - Scrabble Day!
SAC Reporter: Hope Rumford
Friday, November 13 all teachers, students, and staff participated in a new spirit day called Scrabble Spirit Day! What’s Scrabble Day you ask? It’s where you dress up in a letter or make a costume with a letter on it and then you make words with your friends! Everyone had so much fun and we all would love to do it again!
Home & School Association:
Secret Shop - Help Wanted . . .
The Home & School Secret Shop is just about in full swing. The event is not possible without the help of a large number of volunteers. If you have some time and would like to help with this wonderful event, please consider volunteering. To see all available times and to sign-up, please click here.
Secret Shop - Hospitality Help Needed
We are asking all our Titus families for food donations for our volunteers helping at our annual Secret Shop. The secret shop is an event that requires the time and efforts of over 50-75 per day. During the course of the two-day event, the Hospitality Committee will provide lunch and snacks for the volunteers giving their time during this fun holiday experience for all our students.
We are asking for donation items like donuts, breakfast bars, muffins, orange juice, bottled water, coffee, coffee creamer, chips, hard pretzels, soft pretzels, hard candies, oranges, apples, assorted sodas and cookies. You can drop off all items in the main office between Monday, November 30th and Tuesday, December 1st. Please make sure you label all items Secret Shop Volunteer Table with the date you signed up to donate the goods.
We also need volunteers daily to set up the breakfast, assist with lunch and clean up. If interested in donating or volunteering your time, please click here. Please email Jodi Schwartz if you have any questions, or need additional information.
Secret Shop - Shoppers Wanted . . .
We are in need of MORE shoppers!! We buy for over 600 students, who each buy 5-10 things - that’s a lot of shopping to be done!! Just shopping for a few items will help. Please email Kerry Veith if you are interested in helping.
Plea for Help . . .
I have loved being a Titus parent for the past 8 years. It is such a wonderful community. A community that thrives off its volunteerism. This is my 6th year as chairperson for both the Secret Shop and the Yearbook.
I have enjoyed being a part of both of these groups- seeing smiles on the students faces as they shop for their families at the Secret Shop and the excitement when the yearbooks come out in the Spring. This is my last year at Titus, and as I wind down my time here, I want to be sure that these 2 things continue on, even better in the coming years! There are 2 great parents ready to take on the challenge for the 2016-2017 school year- Heather Monser (Secret Shop) and Laura Zakrzewski (Yearbook), but they cannot and should not have to do it alone! I would love to share what being a part of these 2 groups entail.
Both committees are in full swing and it’s a great time to join the teams. If you are interested in being a Co-Chair for either Secret Shop or Yearbook, please contact me- Kerry Veith. Let’s be sure the Secret Shop and Yearbook continue on for years to come!! I will be at the upcoming Home and School Meeting to answers any questions you may have.
Yearbook Announcement . . .
It's that time again!! In search of 1st day of school, Harvest Breakfast, Celebrate Education, Book Fair, RFE and Halloween pictures. Pictures can be shared to the Titus Dropbox. Follow this link to the directions on the Home & School Association website.
Toys for Tabor Needs Your Help . . .
The season of giving is almost upon us and once again we at Titus will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for Tabor Children Services from Friday, November 20rd through December 9th. The children in need range from infant through 21 years of age. There will be decorated collection boxes in the lobby for your donations. Please click here for undesignated holiday gift ideas.
While shopping this holiday season, please consider picking up a gift for the children of Tabor House. For many, these will be the only gifts they receive. The children who benefit from your generosity are extremely grateful for your kindness. Please contact Katie Doerr with any questions you may have.
Thank you in advance for your support!
