Wedgeworth Families - We have had such a wonderful and busy school year. We are heading down the homestretch! When we return from Spring break we will be in our last nine weeks of school. Please continue to reinforce reading and math skills at home. Did you know, starting in Kindergarten, that if a student reads 20 minutes a day at home, they will hear 1.8 million words per year, they will have read for 851 hours by 6th grade and on standardized tests, they will likely score better than 90% of their peers?
March Dates:
- March 2 (Saturday): Dr. Seuss' Birthday
- March 4 - 8: Celebrating Dr. Seuss Week
- March 4: Seussical Sock Day - Wear crazy socks
- March 5: Green Eggs and Ham - Wear green
- March 5: 1st Grade Music Program - 6:30 PM in the Cafeteria
- March 6: Wacky Wednesday - Wear wacky or mismatched clothes
- March 6: 5th Grade Expo at WHS
- March 7: Cat in the Hat - Wear a funny hat or a hat to represent your House
- March 8: Parent/Teacher conference Day - no school for students
- March 11-18: SPRING BREAK
- March 18: Teacher Work Day/Professional Dev. - No school for students
- March 22: Kindergarten Pictures
- March 25-27 - Closed Campus due to STAAR Simulation Test - no visitors, please
Important Days and Dates:
- Wednesdays - Every Wednesday will be our College Day - students and staff are encouraged to wear clothing that represents their favorite college/university
- Thursdays - Every Thursday will be our House Day - students and staff are encouraged to wear clothing with their House color

Winning House for February's Challenge - Responsibility = Red House
- Red - 1605 pts.
- Yellow - 1485 pts.
- Orange - 1480 pts.
- Green - 1095 pts.
- Purple - 960 pts.
- Blue - 535 pts.
March Challenge: Respect
The house challenge for March is demonstrating Respect. Students will have a RESPECT sheet that a staff member will initial when they are demonstrating respect. Each square initialed will be worth 5 house points.
Vision - The House System for Wedgeworth will create community by empowering students to have an innovative mindset geared towards a common goal of self-awareness and responsibility in order to strengthen character and serve others.
House Color Day - Every Thursday we are encouraging our students and staff to wear clothes that represent their house color.
