Notes from our Director
Hello DATA community,
The LAST week of the 2020-2021 one-of-a-kind school year has arrived. We are on an adjusted bell schedule all week and Wednesday through Friday are early release days. The DATA senior award event is tomorrow night, Monday, May 24, additional details are included below. Seniors have one more day of final exams and then many graduation rehearsals this week. Underclassmen, final exams begin tomorrow for you and run through this week. Let's finish sTRong and persevere through the final week. Teachers are still available each day during blended learning times before and after classes to help and support. Thank you for reaching out to them if you need assistance or have questions about make-up work.
Textbooks and technology will be collected after exams are finished. Seniors can turn in borrowed technology during on-campus graduation rehearsal days and underclassmen will be able to turn items in the first week of June. If you are an on-campus learner, feel free to drop of textbooks and technology at the AP office.
Below are some updates in the special "Senior Updates" section with a large number of details for our Class of 2021 graduates. A few updates this week include information about no need for graduation tickets and NEISD FAQ about graduation at the Alamodome has been updated. Like everything this year, things continue to change and we are adjusting to make special events happen for our seniors.

DATA Senior Walk Up Awards Event - Monday, May 24 from 5 - 6:30pm
Yearbook Pick-up Details
It’s time to pick up your yearbooks! There will be a drive-thru distribution for yearbooks Tuesday, May 25, during lunches (11:05 a.m. to 1:05 p.m. if virtual) and Wednesday, May 26, from 5-7 p.m. Please enter through the back bus circle from Mordred Rd.
To pick up the yearbook, the student or family must have a receipt or photo ID. If the student is not present, the parent/guardian must be listed on the student’s file in Skyward in order to release the yearbook.
The printing company is only sending us about 100 extra copies. To reserve one of these for $60, please visit www.yearbookforever.com and select Roosevelt High School, Windcrest Texas. Online sales will close after school on Monday, May 24, or when remaining inventory is sold, whichever comes first.

Apply to be in the Science National Honor Society (SNHS)
Science National Honor Society (SNHS) is currently accepting applications for incoming juniors & seniors who are interested in an honor society for science. Students must have a cumulative unweighted grade average of 85 in all science classes and have taken at least 1 AP science or 2 Honors/PreAP science class. We encourage scientific exploration and compete in many science competitions while enjoying the comradery of like-minded peers and celebrate scientific innovation! Summer School Information
For students who need to make up credits or would like to get ahead, please see the link for summer school information. Summer school will be held at LEE High School this year. Update *** NEISD 2021 Graduation Information -
The City of San Antonio has announced changes to safety protocols at the Alamodome, which will affect NEISD graduation ceremonies in the following ways:
- The Alamodome will open the facility to full event capacity for NEISD graduation ceremonies.
- Seating will be general admission on a first come, first served basis. Tickets will no longer be required or accepted. If you have already received a ticket, discard it.
- There is no limit to how many family members can attend.
- The use of facial coverings are still required for NEISD graduates. However, facemasks are optional for guests attending graduations.
- Temperature checks will no longer be required.
- There has been a change in parking. Vaccines are currently being administered in Lot B, which allows for families to park in Lot C. Due to the increase of capacity, the Alamodome has also opened Lot D. Please refer to the Alamodome parking map for information on how to access the various Lots.
We will continue to keep you updated as additional information or changes are received from the Alamodome and City of San Antonio. Thank you for your cooperation and we look forward to celebrating the class of 2021!

Cap and Gown - Cap & Gown is required for the Graduation ceremony on May 31. If you are still in need of a cap and gown, please contact Josten's at www.highschoolachievements.com
There are no cap and gown sales or deliveries at TRHS.
NHS Stoles and Honor Grad Cords - If you were unable to pick up your National Honor Society Stoles and Honor Graduate Cords during the Josten's pick up event, you can stop by the Roosevelt Assistant Principal's office between 8am - 4:30pm on school days and pick those items up from Ms. Yadira Gutierrez, one of the assistant principal administrative assistants.
DATA Senior Awards - DATA will honor their Class of 2021 Seniors specifically in another special event on Monday, May 24 from 5:00pm - 6:30pm. The DATA Awards will be a Park and Walk-Up event in the front parking lot beside the Saber building with various stations for our seniors to celebrate with teachers as they walk along and gather several awards and special surprises.
DATA Stoles for Graduation - With graduation happening at the Alamodome this year, distributing items at the dome will be much different than how we have done it in previous years at the Coliseum. Therefore, we will be distributing the DATA Stoles to seniors at the Monday, May 24 DATA Senior Awards event and then graduates will return them at the end of graduation on May 31 at the Alamodome. If a senior is not able to attend the May 24 event, they will need to stop by the DATA office after graduation rehearsals the last week of school to get their stole.

A few highlights:
- You will receive your assigned Graduation Rehearsal Session & Time on Tuesday, May 25 to your NEISD email account.
- Some graduates will have rehearsal on May 26 and others on May 27 at Roosevelt. Check the email on May 25 for assignment.
- May 25 Zoom sessions for graduating seniors either at 10am or 2pm, details will be sent via email
- Roosevelt High School's Senior Class of 2021 will graduate on Monday, May 31, 2021 at 7:00PM-9:00PM at the Alamodome.
- A mandatory rehearsal will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 2:30PM-4:00PM at the Alamodome.
On-Campus Graduation Rehearsal Information - We will have more information closer to the end of the month; however, we wanted to share some information that is available now regarding on-campus Graduation Rehearsals.
- Attendance at all rehearsals is mandatory in order to participate in the Graduation scheduled for May 31st at 7pm.
- Attendance will be taken at all rehearsals and count for official attendance requirements per district guidelines. All social distancing guidelines and safety protocols will be adhered to and enforced.
- Students’ sections are assigned based on their assigned row & seat number. The student will receive this specific row, seat, section, dates & times assignment via their NEISD student email on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
- Students will have an individual section rehearsal to attend on Wed., May 26th between 8:30am and 4:00pm
- Students will have a combined section rehearsal to attend on Thurs., May 27th between 8:30am and 12:30pm
For planning purposes at this time, seniors should not plan to work (if applicable) during the above time frames during these final days of the school year.

Free Meals continue for the 2021-2022 School Year
All North East ISD Campuses will continue to serve free meals to all students in the 2021-2022 school year. School meal applications (both paper and online) will not be offered since no qualification is necessary.

Community Service Hour Details
Here is a link to the Community Service Form that you can submit to Ms. Tiller to keep track of your hours. Be sure to keep filling up the page before submitting. You don't need to submit the sheet with just one entry each time. You can also log your hours in the Skyward system under the Volunteer Tile and then just take a "snapshot" or print out of those accumulated hours and send those to Ms. Tiller. atille2@neisd.net
