Activities Department Unveils The Francis Howell Vikings Sports Network This Fall
Currently the Francis Howell Vikings Sports Network is focused on covering only events that would have limited seating capacity and would not enable all Viking fans that wanted to view the event in person the opportunity to view the event. We hope to expand our offerings at some point to include special games and events in our programs when possible. This new opportunity is a very ambitious endeavor by the Activities Department and we hope to be able to offer a great viewing experience and increased opportunities as we go through the 2020-21 school year.
Students or parents that would like to get involved and to assist in making the Francis Howell Vikings Sports Network possible at games and events please contact Activities Director Sean Erwin at sean.erwin@fhsdschools.org . The Activities Department is currently looking for volunteers and support in making this opportunity possible.
We hope all Viking fans with a Roku device will go download the channel today! We hope to communicate soon the information for the mobile app as well! Please see the download information below!

New Covid-19 Guidance Released For Student-Participants
Spectator Guidelines Released For Howell Events
Due to Covid 19 the FHSD has released updated guidelines for fans attending Howell events that help to promote the safety of all students, staff, parents and fans. For the beginning of the 2020-21 school year all Howell venues will have reduced seating capacity to help ensure social distancing. Howell venues will be marked for socially distanced seating and all fans in attendance will be asked to socially distance from non-family members. Seating will be marked so families can sit together while socially distancing from others. In addition to social distancing, at all Howell events face coverings will be required. These guidelines will be in place at all Howell events and will be similar to what other school districts will be requiring when we travel to their venue. The Activities Department and our coaches will work hard to communicate any special guidelines that may be in place when we travel to other schools. Below you can find the guidelines in place by venue.
Guidelines By Venue
Stadium - Facemask required, bleachers marked for social distancing.
Main Gym - Facemask required, no seating for fans behind scorer's table (team seating only), seating on both levels with social distancing.
Tennis Courts - Facemask required, fans encouraged to bring own chairs and social distance.
Softball Fields - Facemask required, bleachers marked for social distancing, fans encouraged to bring own chairs and social distance.
Rec Plex - TBD by St. Peter's Rec Plex
Whitmoor CC - TBD by Whitmoor CC
Friday Night Home Football Games To Have Different Look This Fall
Capacity: The stadium capacity for the fall will be 1,425. The home side will offer seating for 1,200 while the visitor side will offer seating for 225 visiting fans. The capacity was developed through a checkerboard design that will promote social distancing while allowing immediate families to sit together.
Masks/Face Coverings: Required
Seating: The stadium will be marked for socially distanced seating in a checkerboard pattern that will allow for individuals to sit with their families. The bleachers will have designated areas marked for seating and no seating.
Purchasing Tickets: A limited number of tickets (1,200) will be available for sale to all home Friday night football games. All Friday night home football games will use the following process for purchasing tickets for Friday night home games:
- Students: 200 tickets will be made available to Howell students to purchase the Tuesday morning of the home football Friday game week. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis in the Commons before school beginning at 6:45 a.m.
- Parents/Fans: 1,000 tickets will be made available for purchase online the Tuesday night of the home football Friday game week. Tickets will go on sale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday night and will have a cap of 4 tickets purchased per person. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis online only. Each game will sell out quickly. Tickets will not be available for sale the night of the game at the stadium because all tickets will be sold by that point. The link to online ticket purchasing will be communicated each home football Friday week via the www.howellvikings.com website, all Howell Activities Department social media platforms and the Viking Insider.
Live Streaming - Due to the major reduction in capacity, all home Friday night games will be carried live on the Francis Howell Vikings Sports Network. The games will be available on the Francis Howell Vikings Sports Network Roku channel and through the mobile app releasing soon. The Francis Howell Vikings Sports Network will allow fans to purchase per game viewing or a subscription for the entire year that would include all events carried by the Francis Howell Vikings Sports Network.
