Week of July 23rd - 26th
Welcome to First Grade!
A HUGE thank you to all parents who were able to attended “Meet Your Teacher Night”. It was a pleasure to see all of you and I am looking forward to an amazing year in first grade.
We had an amazing first day of school, be sure to ask your child all about "First Grade Brain Juice" today.
If you have not yet already, please send in your child’s “All About Me Bag” they received during Meet Your Teacher. We are so excited to learn all about each other!
I know many of you are interested in having lunch with your child. Please wait 2 weeks before coming to lunch so that we can practice our routines and procedures.
In first grade, your child can bring a healthy, individual snack each day labeled with their name. They will get to eat their snack during our afternoon recess time. Please also be sure to send them with a labeled water bottle.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR
First Grade Curriculum Night is on Thursday August 8th at 5:00 OR 5:55 p.m.
Please be sure to send in the items from the First Grade Supply List ASAP, these items will help us have a successful year.
Please send the coins for math by Friday, your child will need these for our lesson next week.
Our class is in need of a few additional items. If you are able to help, please click here. THANK YOU!
BEE Folder & Instructions
Inside your child’s BEE folder you will find their weekly homework calendar. Homework is crucial to your child’s success in this accelerated program. Please follow these steps to help your child complete their homework:
1. Check homework calendar for daily behavior (see color key on the front of Homework folder).
2. Read nightly homework assignment and help your child complete all tasks.
Please be sure that all homework pages are returned accurate and with NEAT handwriting. Backwards letters/numbers and sloppy writing will not be accepted as complete. All homework should be completed with a pencil.
We understand that life is very busy and this weekly homework calendar is meant to provide more flexibility for those busy nights. The homework calendar will be checked for completion daily but will not be collected until Friday however, SAXON MATH WORKSHEETS MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED DAILY.
Thank you for your help in establishing good homework routines with your child. Your participation and support with help your child be successful in first grade.

The PTO has made the switch to a more paper-friendly form of communication. They are now using a new app called Konstella for our communications. This app will allow campus wide communications about events and fundraisers, as well as classroom specific communications. Sign-up's will also be done through the app and the entire school calendar with our events is already set up in there for parents to reference.
