Each month, Manville School District staff recognizes outstanding performance by students and staff in each building. Enthusiasm, determination, work ethic and benevolence are taken into consideration. Those who exemplify these qualities are awarded for their efforts with Student or Staff of the Month. Dana Correnti
Staff of the Month
Ms. Correnti has been a school counselor at Weston for the past 7 years and has worked with so many wonderful students, families, and coworkers! Working at Weston makes coming to work an easy choice for her. She loves being able to come to work and have the opportunity to meet with students 1-1 or in small groups and work on skills so they can grow up to be awesome humans! Coming to work to be greeted with hugs and smiles from the kids you work with everyday is a wonderful feeling! She also appreciates the hard work of her coworkers who make their classrooms a fun learning environment.
Notable Accomplishments
Dana is a one in a million counselor! She is always there to help any student or staff member in need with no questions asked, but even more than that she always checks in. She makes teachers and students feel supported and heard. Her light hearted attitude makes coming to work fun and memorable! She goes above and beyond and provides support to both our students and our staff. She never hesitates to help another staff member or to provide a student with anything that they need. Dana is always a team player and always keeps what is best for our students in mind.

Emely Rodriguez

Corinne Petersen
Staff of the Month
Miss Petersen has been with the Manville School District for almost 4 years. She loves to build relationships with her students and try new activities in the classroom. She also loves seeing her students excited about what they're learning in class. She loves figure skating, fitness, learning languages, and drinking tea in her free time.
Notable Accomplishments
Miss Petersen is working on obtaining her Spanish Translation certificate at Montclair State University. She also speaks Italian and Russian conversationally.
She is humbled to be recognized as Staff Member of the December 2023 and is extremely grateful to work in such a supportive school community.

Stanley Choroszewski
Grade: 7
Stanley is a very hard working and bright student. Stanley works well with other students in class and helps support his peers in group work settings. Stanley is very well behaved in class and is always on time coming into class with a positive attitude, ready to work.

Micaela L. Quinonez
Grade: 8
Mica is the epitome of a well rounded student. She is involved in Bronco Buddies, Jazz Band and Marching Band. She is also thrilled to participate as a Bronco Buddy providing peer mentorship to other students within the ABIS building. She served as the stage manager for the ABIS production "Footloose." Her organizational and leadership skills are beyond measure.

My Favorite thing about my school is... "How many opportunities there are! I love playing soccer and being able to represent the school, not only from soccer but in chorus, marching band, jazz band, and helping out backstage for the school plays. Meeting new people and building new friendships with them are something I’m very thankful for, and although ABIS isn’t that big the memories I make are worth it and how close most people are!"
Cheryl Cojocar Lopez
Staff of the Month
Ms. Cheryl Cojocar has dedicated over 20 years of her career as a special education teacher in the Manville School District, where she absolutely loves her job and the community. After obtaining a bachelor's degree at Montclair State University, she began teaching in Manville in 2001. She has taught a range of grade levels, working with students with diverse learning needs. Cheryl finds great purpose in helping her students gain the academic, social-emotional, and life skills they require to reach their full potential. She takes pride in providing an inclusive, supportive classroom environment where students feel empowered. Her passion for teaching special education and commitment to the students and families of Manville remains strong after over two decades.The relationships Cheryl has built with students, families, and colleagues over the years are invaluable. She look forward to continuing to serve this community for years to come.
Notable Accomplishments
To further her education, she earned a Masters in Social Work in 2016. On a personal note, she is the loving mother of two children and two step-children who inspire her daily.

Carly Galvin
Student of the Month
She is never late to class, and does her work without fuss. Helps other students. She is involved in many extra curricular activities and well liked by her peers. I rarely hear of her being involved in any drama. She is focused on her grades and doing her best. If I ask for a paragraph she gives me an essay.
3 Fun Facts about Carly:
My favorite pastime is reading; my favorite books are The Book Thief and The Hunger Games.
I love to run, which is why I compete in cross country and spring track.
I am passionate about the environment, which is why I plan to major in Environmental Science in college.
My Favorite thing about my school is… "getting the opportunity to learn about the world, in an environment with encouraging, enthusiastic teachers and peers."
Ernest “Trip” Freitag
Athlete of the Month
Trip has had a phenomenal opening to the winter season. He has opened his year with a 13-0 record and has won all three tournaments that he has entered. Trip took first place at the season opening Blue Devil Classic in Ewing, pinning his way through the tournament. He followed that up with a title at the Walter Woods Invitational tournament at Middletown South High School, where he had a thrilling buzzer-beating victory in the semifinals, followed by a heart-racing 1 point victory in the finals. This past weekend in Hillsborough, Freitag stormed his way through the Somerset County Tournament, earning his second consecutive championship.

Christopher Bubnick
Staff of the Month
Mr. Bubnick has been a teacher for the past fourteen years. He has spent the last two years teaching Social Studies at Manville High School. Mr. Bubnick also enjoys playing the drums, video games, and spending time with his wife and dog.
