Mental Health Awareness Month
How you feel matters.
Don't dismiss your feelings. Talk about them with someone you trust. This is self-compassion, and you deserve it. Listen to someone who needs to be heard. Sit with someone who is hurting. This is empathy and it is powerful. We are all in this together.
Know the signs of mental and emotional stress. These are trying times.
Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” ~ John 16:33 NIV
Mind Your Mind
Supporting your mental health creates a sense of well-being. All it takes is a little attention to yourself each day.
3 things to DO:
- Do something that fills your personal cup each day
- Accept yourself, including imperfections
- Cultivate curiosity and embrace challenges
3 things to STOP:
- Overbooking yourself
- Overthinking everything
- Overlooking the beauty in each moment
If your struggles continue for more than 2-weeks, seek help. One in five youths suffer from mental health conditions and it is important to know the signs.
The National Council for Mental Well-being offers free training on how to identify, understand, and respond.
Take the Challenge and Grow Ahead!
Growing is a joyful lifestyle that relieves us of the pressure of perfection and leads us to a place where we can make a greater and more positive impact every day.
In my new workbook Social Emotional Health 21-Day Challenge, you have the opportunity to self-assess and set some important personal goals, then reassess and go again!
"There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man. True nobility is being superior to your former self!" Earnest Hemmingway
"Behold, I am doing a new thing!" ~ Isaiah 43:19a NIV

"And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets." Zechariah 8:5 ESV
A WEEK of Grounding Activities
At Texoma Christian School, we are dedicating a week to highlight Mental Health Awareness. Each day, during the week of May 15-19, we will emphasize various ways to promote positive mental health and well-being.
TCS Mental Health Spirit Week
Mellow Yellow Monday: Wear yellow to stay calm and collected.
Together Tuesday: Dress alike as a class because you are not alone!
Wear Green Wednesday: Wear green to represent the green light to reach out for help.

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls, one can help the other up." ~ Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NIV
