Three-ring circus of education, commerce, and app-making fun

Appsterdam returns to PICNIC – with a closer look at the now bigger and better App Makers ecosystem in orbit around the historic Dutch capital. Together with our partners in business and education, Appsterdam will create a three-ring circus of education, commerce, and app-making fun. And a circus it will be.


For free - no PICNIC ticket needed

We invite guests and PICNIC attendees to meet the city's App Makers and enjoy our talks, App Lab, workshops, pitch contest and lounge space. And how about meeting our partners, a biking or walking tour through the city or a drink afterwards? The App Ecosystem Tent has it all. And, we repeat, no PICNIC ticket needed!

We built Appsterdam, the world capital of apps, to establish a centre of gravity for our industry, to provide a place where all App Makers can gather, and to create a framework for people to give back and support the community. Our goal is to build a structured ecosystem in which App Makers can flourish. In Amsterdam and beyond.

PICNIC 2012

PICNIC is a leading European platform for innovation and creativity. It functions as an incubator and accelerator for game changing ideas, concepts, products and services. Through their activities, they address the mega trends of our time and explore how to creatively apply technology in order to meet business, social and environmental challenges. This year's theme: DIY - the movement.

We'll host a Meeten and Drinken event, replicating one of Appsterdam's core community gatherings. Consider yourself invited!


Experience The Urban Ecosystem city tours

Come take one of Appsterdam’s experiential walking or biking tours, powered by MacBike and 7Scenes MuseumApp. Bike tours leave at 10:00 and 14:40. Walking tours leave at 11:00. Meet us outside of the tent.
