Kindergarten News You Can Use

December 11, 2015

Thank You!

We so appreciate the help and support with making the gingerbread houses and decorating them. The students had an amazing time. We hope you enjoy the ornamental candy houses.

Holiday Gift Exchange

We are asking that each child send a gift item with a value of $10.00 to be exchanged at the holiday party. Boys should bring a boy's gift and girls should bring a girl's gift. Please wrap the gift and label it with your child's name. The gifts will be passed out randomly during our gift exchange game. When helping your child select a gift, please keep in mind that if your child would enjoy receiving that chosen item, it will probably be well received by another child. Please send this gift by Monday, December 14th.

Events to Remember

Dec. 18:

Winter party begins at 10:30!

Parents are welcome to attend. The children will be eating pizza and a special dessert so your child does not need to bring a lunch. We will have a gift exchange during the party. Please send your child's gift no later than Wed., Dec., 16th. The girls need to bring a girl gift and the boys need to bring a boy gift. The cost should be no more than $10. If it is something your child would love to have, then most likely, another child would like it as well.

Dec. 18:

11:45 Early Dismissal!!!

Dec. 21-Jan. 4: Winter Break! Enjoy this time with your family!

Please help your child continue learning by getting on iStation and RAZ Kids. The students who regularly use these programs at home are strengthening their ability to decode words and are becoming strong readers, too. iStation is a great resource for these skills. This would also be a good time to get started on earning a free Six Flags Ticket. Please see the information in your child's take-home folder.

Jan. 5:

Students return to school.

Jan. 6:

Math Practice

We are working on financial literacy in math. Please help your child learn to recognize the following coins: penny, nickel, dime and quarter. The students are only responsible for recognition at this time. We will be checking for mastery in the next few days. So get those coins out and begin helping them.
