Buchenwald concentration camp
Introduction
Buchenwald was the largest concentration camp in 1937. Schutzstaffel, (SS) authorities opened Buchenwald for male prisoners in July 1937. Women were not a part of Buchenwald camp system until the late 1943 or early 1944.
