Please support the integrity of our learning environment by reinforcing this policy with your student and refraining from texting or calling them during the day.
Clinic medication
Please remember to send in medication in original packaging to the clinic with completed paperwork for our new school year. Epi-Pens, Auvi-q, Daily medications, and Inhalers must have a doctor’s signature. Forms can be found on the Fulton County Schools website.
The clinic is also in need of girl’s pants (shorts/leggings) and boys t-shirts.
Please contact the clinic for any questions.
CHANGING YOUR STUDENT’S TRANSPORTATION
Students are assigned a bus based on the primary address in Infinite Campus. To ride any bus other than the assigned bus, you need approval from FCS transportation. Please contact Suzanne Schwitters at north transportation for consideration. schwitterssc@fultonschools.org.
STUDENT CHECK OUT 101
IT’S EASY Most dismissals that occur during the school day are pre-planned and can be a smooth process following these easy steps.
CHECK OUT
1. Write a note outlining the following –who (full name please) you are checking out, why you are checking out, date and time you are checking out, then sign and give a contact number. Also, please note that the latest a student should check out is 3:45 pm. This avoids conflict with buses and carpool drivers arriving for dismissal.
2. Please send the note with your student on the day of the pre-planned early dismissal and have them report to the office upon. The note will be approved and will then serve as a pass out of class at the noted time. Your student is then instructed to report to the front office at your stated time so be sure this accurately represents when you want them to be at the front office.
3. Check out now requires that you scan the QR code on the YELLOW flyer at the front doors with your smartphone camera and complete the ENTIRE questionnaire including, the taking a picture of your ID, then hit SUBMIT. Once approved, ring the bell. 4. If your checking a student out for the remainder of the day for Dr appt please scan and email that Dr. note to CMSfrontoffice@fultonschools.org
CHECK IN
1.Please scan the QR code on the window at the front doors. If you are checking in WITH a Dr note, please see at the bottom of the Check in/out form where you can take a picture of the note to attach to the Check In submission.
2. Once submitted and approved, please ring the bell to show the Approval from the app and direct your student to the office for a pass to class.
ATTENDANCE: PARENTS, SCHOOL, AND AUTOMATION
An ‘automatic phone parent notification’ is generated when any absence is entered by a teacher during the class day. Please submit a virtual note (to cmsfrontoffice@fultonschools.org). You may attach a scan or picture of a Doctor’s excuse to the email for additional documentation. Examples of excusable absences are illness, funeral attendance, and religious observance. The average time from the absence to the correction for an excusable absence is 1-2 days. When you receive this call and if you have already communicated an explanation of the absence, no further action is needed.
Should you wish to confirm that your student’s attendance is accurately logged, you may check Home Access Center a few days after an absence. Simply run your mouse over the day to see more detail. Remember that the beginning of the day starts promptly at 8:55. CMS appreciates your participation in this process to assure maximum instructional time.

CMS PTA News
CMS PTA is applying to be a National PTA School of Excellence
The Crabapple Middle School PTA knows that a strong partnership among our families, school leaders and community members is important to the success of our students and school. That’s why we are participating in the National PTA School of Excellence program, which grows partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being of all students.
At a National PTA School of Excellence, families feel welcomed and empowered to support student success, and PTA is a key partner for continuous school improvement. We feel Crabapple Middle School and Crabapple Middle School PTA can achieve that together—and the result will be national, state and community-wide visibility for the positive impact we are making together at Crabapple Middle School.
We need your help! As part of the process, National PTA requests feedback from families, administrators and teachers at two points in the school year—the beginning and the end. Your feedback will help us improve our family-school partnership and achieve excellence.
Please take 5-10 minutes to reflect on your experience at this completereturn this survey to by clicking here. We will be collecting responses through October 31.
Does this sound like a PTA program you’d really like to help with? Join us! Contact cms.pta.presidents@gmail.com to learn more!

Please Contribute to the HHH Annual Fund
Thank you to everyone who came to the HHH Info Night & Annual Fund Kickoff at Gate City! Our October Game Day Distribution was also a success, and thanks to your generosity, 32 students are receiving $100 Walmart gift cards, vegetables from the CMS Garden, snacks, a new book (donated through the book fair), and a game-day item (board game, football, etc.)
HHH assists students and families in urgent need at CMS, and we rely on the generosity of our community to do this. We invite those who are able to donate to the HHH Annual Fund which allows us to plan six food and clothing distributions throughout the school year, as well as the popular Shop With a Hero holiday event. Visit our website to learn more and be sure to follow us on Facebook or Instagram.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
