MORE THAN A SCOREBOARD
At the end of the day when the final score isn't in your favor, but you can still hold your head high and support your opponent and those who are hurting, that's what matters!
At the end of Friday night's football game, both teams came together mid-field in a great display of sportsmanship.
And in the student section, CHS students paid tribute to their beloved substitute teacher, Mr. Marvin Duggins who passed away last week. Students wore his trademark style of Hawaiian shirts and Crocs. They welcomed Mr. Duggins' family to join them in the student section and enjoyed sharing their favorite memories with his family.
We have some of the best!
Celebrating Grandparents at Henry Elementary
It might have been a rainy dreary morning, but that didn't stop over 425 grandparents from attending Henry Elementary's Grandparent's Day celebration.
It was a fun morning with singing, hugging and lots of smiles from the grandparents and their grandkids.
Thanks grandparents for joining us, we enjoyed welcoming you to our school!

From the Midwest to the Middle East
Clinton Middle School STEM teacher, Mrs. Alex Hill, received the opportunity of a lifetime recently when she was chosen to travel to Dubai and Abu Dhabi to work with the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Education to provide training in STEM education.
While there, she stayed busy working with other STEM educators to facilitate workshops on design thinking, problem-based learning, growth mindset, and integrating STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math) into existing curriculum in multiple content areas.
Even though Mrs. Hill was half-way around the world, she didn't forget about her Cardinals back home. Her students had the opportunity to Skype with Mrs. Hill while she was away.
FIRST CLINICAL OF THE YEAR
Health Occupations students at Clinton Technical School recently participated in their first clinical of the school year.
Students in Mrs. Barb Houk's class took part in a dental varnishing clinic provided by Ann Hoffman, Dental Hygienist, from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. Following the clinic, students received certification in Dental Varnishing.
This is the first of many hands-on opportunities students will receive this school year.

I have heard many times over the years that schools help to create a strong community. I have also heard that communities help to create strong schools. To me, it is like the age old question, “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” I believe that a community and its schools fit together like a hand in a glove. The community is what provides the protection, the overall attitude, and the support for strong schools.
My wife and I moved to Clinton this summer. One thing that really stands out to us is the tremendous pride that this community has for its schools. People talk about being “Clintonians,” or “Clinton for Life Members,” or “Once a Cardinal Always a Cardinal.” The common theme that we hear is that, “We love our schools!”
Those comments and the overall positive attitude that the community has toward the schools is one of the biggest reasons that my wife and I chose to move to Clinton. This attitude is evidenced whenever we attend events at the schools and see the large crowds of community members, who come out to support our kids.
Having a community that supports their students by showing up and cheering them on is a huge benefit to our kids. That support, instills within our kids that same pride that so many citizens of Clinton who have gone through our schools possess. Being there for our kids no matter the outcome of the contest speaks loudly to them. It gives them a reason to walk away with their heads held high knowing that their community cares. Please join our students and faculty on Fridays by wearing red and blue as we celebrate the pride we have in our community and our schools.
People often ask what my vision for our schools is. Truthfully, I did not bring a vision to impose upon this community. I see my role as the superintendent to listen to the people in this community, and to hear the vision that lies in the hearts of the people living in our community. Then, my job becomes one of nurturing that vision as we work together to provide learning opportunities for kids so that they can be ready to be successful after high school. The community of Clinton and the relationship with its schools is what builds a bright future that includes a great sense of pride in being a Clinton Cardinal.
