Call to Serve
Over the Easter holiday, Mr. and Mrs. Perry received divine calls to serve as Principal/7th-8th grade teacher and 1st-2nd grade teacher at Trinity Lutheran School in Jenera, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. Perry welcome your feedback and questions. Feel free to reach out to them and share your thoughts. During this time of deliberation, let us pray together for our Lord to guide their decision to where He sees their talents best used.

Feeling Good Mileage Club
The F.G.M.C., a program that promotes exercise, is set to begin the week of April 12th. Students have the opportunity to walk or run during their lunch recesses. Each participating student will earn a small plastic foot charm and a prize for every 5 miles they walk or run. If they walk or run 20 miles, they will earn a sports water bottle.
So let’s get those feet moving!
If you have not yet signed your student up, it’s not too late. They cannot participate to earn prizes if they’re not signed up, we don’t want to see anyone left out. Please visit www.sparrowmilesclub.com for more info.
If you are interested in volunteering an afternoon to help supervise students as they participate, please email the school office.
Warm Weather Attire
Now that shorts may be worn to school, please make sure that they are of proper length; the handbook states “mid-thigh”. Also, sleeveless shirts are allowed, but no tank tops (Use the four finger rule – and if you have to question it, it’s probably NOT appropriate.) Sandals that fit securely with a back strap are allowed. No backless shoes or flip-flops.
2021/2021 Enrollment
If you have not yet turned in the yellow Pre-Registration Form, and you wish to have your students attend Salem next school year, please email the school office. Planning for next school year has already begun. It is very helpful to know an approximate number of students per grade while ordering classroom supplies.
Word of mouth is the best advertising tool for our school. If you know a family looking to provide a Christian Education for their children, please tell them about us and the good work we do here. Invite them to call or email the school office. We would love to set up a time to talk with them.

- Learn about the special purpose of MLS and meet the leaders of our faculty.
- Visit our classrooms and meet with our students, teachers, and coaches.
- Ask questions of MLS faculty and current MLS parents about the pros and cons of MLS.
- Take a tour of the school and get acquainted with the campus.

If your family is interested in attending, MLS asks for advance notice to help accommodate visitors. Families can register online by visiting www.mlsem.org or calling (989)793-1010.
Immediately after the Open House we will have our Late Night event (usually the Lock-In) from 7-11 pm. The dawning of another Easter morning reminds us that the Victory is won!
We Worship
We shared the message of triumph through the risen Jesus with so many as they came to see the church and new community center! Below are song lyrics of a piece that we played at our English/Spanish service. What Were You Thinking
What were you thinking as your trust was betrayed?
They’re tying my hands while my friends ran away.
Armies of angels would have answered your call,
And you didn’t struggle at all.
What were you thinking when they spit in your face?
I’ll get even with them and the whole human race?
They crowned you with thorns though you were more than a king,
And you didn’t say anything.
What were you thinking, a person could ask?
Were you out of your mind to agree?
What were you thinking to stand in between
An angry Father and me?
What were you thinking as you hung on the tree?
A curse on them all for laughing at me?
But in all of these things your thoughts were perfectly clean,
And you purchased heaven for me.
What were you thinking, a person could ask?
Were you out of your mind to agree?
What were you thinking to stand in between
An angry Father and me?
What were you thinking as you hung on the tree?
A curse on them all for laughing at me?
When armies of angels would have answered your call,
You didn’t struggle at all.
You said “Father, forgive them all,”
And you purchased heaven for us all.
Praise God with us for the opportunities here. God bless you in your final Lent and Easter meditation. He is risen. He is risen, indeed!
