The Mata Memo
December 7, 2021
Principal's Message
As we enter the final 2 weeks before the end of the semester, I wanted to share with you our vision and mission for Eduardo Mata Montessori School.
Our school's vision is to provide an academic foundation that allows our students to be successful life-long learners.
Our school's mission statement is to provide an authentic Montessori education by focusing on educating the whole child academically, socially, and emotionally for all children.
As we go about our day-to-day task of educating your children, we aim to keep those statements in mind. We also encourage our schoolwide rules for students. They are
Respect for self, respect for others, and respect for the environment.
Check out the SEL lesson below on how you can help foster and teach respect as well!
Next week, our campus will administer ACP exams. Please make sure that your child has brought their device and charger to school. Please also make sure that your child is well-rested, in attendance, and on time to class.
We are looking forward to a great week! Thanks for all that you do!

Random Acts of Kindness (RAOK)
The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation believes "kindness starts with one, and there is no "one" better than you (the parent or guardian to your kids) to start a kindness revolution at home. You have the power to set a kind tone for your entire household". Download the parent / guardian guide to read details on how RAOK's Kindness at Home program works and to access free, quick, convenient kindness activities for families of all ages, discussion topics, and journal prompts emailed right to you. Check out the first of six lessons, Respect, below:
According to the RAOK Foundation, respect is a great way to show kindness at home! Respect means treating people, places, and things with kindness. Families learn how to show more respect to themselves because we can't respect others until we first respect ourselves. Then, talk about how to better respect others, even our siblings! What are some ways to show respect?
- Use their name
- Express sincere gratitude
- Do more listening than talking
- Talk more about them than about you
- Be authentically interested
- Be sincere in your praise
- Show you care
