Del Mar Weekly
March 4, 2023
Our visit from TNTP this week went very well. Although we will not get the results of the data they collected until the end of May, they commented positively on several occasions that "you can really tell everyone on campus cares about the students." Since we know students won't learn until they know you care, it's a pretty important piece of the puzzle.
This week is "Read Across America Week" in honor of the birthday of Dr. Seuss (March 2). Mrs. Masiello has some exciting things planned for the week.
Rockstar Teacher- Wendy Silva!
Rhiannon Falasco chose Wendy Silva as this week's "Rockstar Teacher" for all the help she provides to teachers.
Carnival Prep!
SAVE THE DATE! The Del Mar School Carnival is scheduled on Friday, May 3rd from 4:30-7:00 pm. With all of the construction and lack of space to hold dances, we are really counting on this event to bring our school community together. As we have done in the past, each class will run or help run a booth. It would be nice to have parent volunteers, so they could feel like they are contributing to our Del Mar community. We welcome ideas for booths from the staff. The carnival committee will be assigning booths in the near future so share any ideas with Admin, Wendy Silva or Leslie Dau. Thank you for supporting our students and families.
Girl's Basketball
The Del Mar Girl's basketball team went to the District Tournament and played hard against some tough teams. We won the first game but were eliminated after losing the second game. They showed great sportsmanship throughout. Way to go girls!
