Hello Fellow Copeland Parents!
Happy Fall season! I hope you all are enjoying this cooler weather as much as I am! We just wrapped up Field Days at Copeland and I want to give a huge THANK YOU to all who volunteered to make this day a success for our kids! They had sooooo much fun! It was great to see all the tents and the team spirit that was displayed.
ATTENTION ALL MOTHER FIGURES……Our 1stMummy- Son dance will be this Friday, October 27, 2017 from 6-8! Get your costume ready for a fun night of food, dancing and games for you & your “little man”. This memorable night features a variety of music, dessert bar & other fun activities. This promises to be a special treat for all! For more details go to our PTO website at www.copelandpto.org .
Cards for a Cause is our new minor fundraiser! It will last for the next two weeks. If you are tired of buying super expensive cards then this is a no brainer for savings!! We are now offering four different boxes of beautifully crafted, stylishly embellished and individually wrapped greeting cards with matching envelopes. Save money now and time later, have cards on hand for every occasion. This year funds from our fundraisers will go towards new classroom literacy libraries, technology, and our schools 25th anniversary celebration, so every dollar counts! More details about this opportunity is also on our website. Copeland PTO Cards for a Cause.
Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who consistently give their time and talents to Copeland, we really do appreciate you and COULD NOT do this without you!!

VIPS News by Molli Murray
We have lots of things happening in the next couple of weeks for which we need items and volunteers. Please check out the classroom news below for lots of exciting opportunities.
We also always need volunteers and helpers year round. If you do have ability to volunteer on a more regular basis, there are plenty of opportunities. You can learn about SRC (Science Resource Center), which is an excellent resource not only for the students, but for parents too. If you are able to volunteer for this, I promise you will learn something too! Please contact our SRC Chair Selina Sauceda at firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also refer to Selina's article below for a little more information.
The library always needs volunteers, as do art and music. Please let me know if you want more information.
If you have any questions or comments regarding our VIPS program or would like to volunteer, please contact me at 713-829-0638 or email@example.com.

Volunteer of the month
Spirit Gear is on it's way!
Thank you for being patient if you had to wait for your spirit gear to be ordered, the deadline was pushed back due to Hurricane Harvey. We expect to have all orders in and delivered to students by the end of October. If you missed the deadline, we still have limited quantities of spirit gear available. Please go to copelandpto.org (click Fundraising from menu, then Spirit Wear) to place your order before inventory runs out. If you have any questions please contact Amanda Ball at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank You! by Amanda Ball
A big THANK YOU to all of our volunteers that helped make field day a success! We couldn't have done it without all of you! Also major thanks to Langham Creek ACE hardware for donating 16 5-gallon buckets and Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market for donating popsicles for field day. Love seeing community come together to help our school.

Science Resource Center by Selina Sauceda
Hello Copeland Parents!
I am excited for another great year at the SRC! Please
the information below to see how you can help!
What is the SRC: The Science Resource Center (SRC) is a CFISD center that brings curriculum and live animals, meant to extend on the science lessons done in class, to the schools. All materials and live animals needed for lessons are provided by the SRC staff.
Who is needed: The SRC demonstrations (demos) are done by campus volunteers. The SRC will train you in any grade level demo you are interested in presenting. Demo dates are then set by the SRC Liaison at each campus, and the trained volunteer presents the demo to the students on the assigned date.
How to volunteer: See the
Fall demo dates below and RSVP to Selina Sauceda with the grade level and demo dates you wish to be trained for: Selina.email@example.com
