Title I Home/School Compact
SY2023-2024
Elementary School Parents & Guardians:
Every school receiving Title I funds must have a home/school compact.
The compact is an agreement between the school and the home.
The goal of the compact is to promote parents as partners with the school in
their child's education.
By reading the section of this compact that pertains to your responsibilities, you are pledging your commitment to the education and success of our students.
Parent/Guardian Section
I realize that my participation as a partner in my child's education will help his/her achievement and attitude. Therefore, I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:
- Make sure that my child is attending school regularly, is on time, and is prepared to learn. Please make sure that your child comes to their virtual Title I small group meeting with their Title I bag of supplies.
- Become aware of and be supportive of the virtual classroom and in-person school rules and expectations.
- Make sure my child gets enough sleep, proper nutrition, is clean and appropriately dressed for remote meetings and school each day.
- Provide my child access to books and encourage reading daily. I will continue to monitor my child's recreational TV and technology use. I will provide my child with outdoor activities.
- Provide a consistent, well lit, quiet area for learning, and seated at a table/desk or near a flat surface.
- Encourage my child's effort and support his/her learning.
- Read with my child, listen to my child read and let my child see me read.
- Encourage my child to respect peers during meetings, at school, and all staff.
- Become involved by attending virtual parent conferences, PTO meetings, Title I workshops, and/or school activities.
Student Section
As a Title I student, I know that it is important to have an excellent education to prepare for my future. I know that I am responsible for my success. Therefore, I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:
- I will wake up, eat a nutritious breakfast and logon to my classroom and/or Title I small group meeting on time, and bring my school and/or Title I bag of supplies.
- I will attend school prepared and ready to learn, and virtual Title I small group meetings ready to learn, with my materials organized.
- I will produce quality work and do my best each day.
- I will limit my recreational screen time. (TV, computer, video games)
- I will make time to read each day.
- I will take responsibility for my own actions.
- I will help to keep my school clean and safe, and I will wear a mask when I am in school.
- I will show respect for my teacher and other adults, students and school property.
Staff Section
I realize the importance of the school experience to every student and my role as an educator and role model. Therefore, I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:
- I will encourage children to respect each other.
- I will foster a healthy, safe and supportive learning environment.
- I will promote communication between parents, students and teachers.
- I will set academic and behavioral expectations and communicate responsibilities.
- I will teach the skills and concepts appropriate for my students to achieve at his/her highest level.
- I will continue my lifelong learning by taking advantage of professional development opportunities.
