By Henry Boyle
What was the first Computer
In 1936 Turning dreamt up a thinking machine. In the 2WW he worked for the British to crack codes. The Colossus (the picture) is a massive computer which helped to crack the codes, he helped to make it. From then on people have developed that computer to the computers today.
The World Wide Web
The WWW was made by Tim Bernes-Lee in 1980's. He worked at CERN (The European Organization for Nuclear Research) He suffered from information overload and he wanted a way to organising documents and make them more accessible, than just a lode of of papers. He invented the internet which could link hypertext documents to computers by a link.
Screen
One of the main outputs. This is where you can see the information stored in the computer.
Motherboard
The Motherboard is used to connect all the bits and bobs to run and make the computer work.
Ram
Ram stand for Random Access Memory. This is the peace of paper to help the CUP for processing stuff.
CUP
This stands for Central Processing Unit. This does all the thinking and processing and it uses the RAM.
Hard Drive
The Hard Drive is the main part of the storage system. This stores information and then it can be deleted.
Keybord
One of the most important inputs. It controls deleting and adding information into the computer.
